Wreath of Blooms

Some lovely ladies gathered at my house yesterday to make the pretty Wreath of Blooms Kit. I love our kits, they are so easy to put together and so easy to customise as well.

The colours in this project are:

I had made my wreath up beforehand so that I had some idea how it went together. I had also decided to frame mine.

The ladies popped out all the pieces of that made up the flowers and leaves. Using bone folders they shaped the flower petals and stacked them together before adding the centre pieces and the brads to hold them together.

Each leaf was folded down the middle and again shaped with a bone folder and/or fingers.

The yellow flower was created by loosening the fibres with a bone folder before folding in half down the length. It was held together with a strip of Tear ‘n Tape. The flowers were then rolled up using Mini Glue Dots, inserted periodically to hold the flower together.

The flowers and leaves were then added to the triangular back piece using either hot glue, Tear ‘n Tape or Mini Glue Dots.

All of the ladies decided to cover the cardboard wreath using either Jute Twine (from my stash) or lace trim which one lady brought with her. The flowers are leaves were then added to the wreath with Hot Glue to complete the wreath.

One of the ladies decided to frame her wreath and chose a piece of Bloom Where You’re Planted dsp, cut to 9⅛” by 9⅛” to cover the back panel. She adhered the two together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The Wreath was added to the back panel of the shadow box with Hot Glue and the flowers were then added with the frame in place. The decorated piece was inserted into the frame and the back closed.

They all looked really lovely. I hope you like them.
