Toucan card for the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing projects inspired by a sketch. I have used the adorable toucan from the new Jungle Pals stamp set to make my card. This stamp set will be available as one of the Sale-a-Bration items available from the 4^th January 2024 in my online store.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Toucan card, you will need:

Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
One Horse Open Sleigh dsp – 5½” by 3⅞”
One Horse Open Sleigh dsp – 5½” by 1½”
Petal Pink card – 2½” by 2½”
Basic White card – 2½” by 2½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

The larger panel of One Horse Open Sleigh designer series paper (dsp) was glued to the Crumb Cake card front. The smaller panel of One Horse Open Sleigh dsp was then glued to the card front.

The toucan image from the Jungle Pals stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the square of Basic White card. I die cut the image using the Stylish Shapes Dies. I die cut the same sized stitched square from the square of Petal Pink card.

The image was coloured in using the following Blends Pens – Petal Pink, Real Red, Lemon Lolly, Crumb Cake. The sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The coloured image was then glued, off set, to the Petal Pink stitched square and and mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

A Linen Twine bow and a trio of solid gems completed the card.
