Whiskey Galore for the Family Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Family themed Blog Hop where we are sharing a project inspired by, or made for a family member. I have chosen to make a whiskey galore card inspired by my husband and son who are both lovers of whiskey.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the whiskey galore card, you will need:

Basic Gray card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Basic Gray card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 3½” by 3½”
Daffodil Delight card – 3” by ¾”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”

I inked up the decanter image with Basic Gray ink and randomly stamped all over the Basic Gray panel. The panel was then mounted onto the Basic Gray card front on Black Dimensionals.

The same image was stamped onto the square of Basic White card using the same ink. I used Post It notes to mask off the decanter and added the glass using the Basic Gray ink.

I coloured the decanter and glass using the following Blend Pens – Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Smoky Slate and the Color Lifter. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray ink.

The image was die cut using one of the Stylish Shapes Dies. I used one of the banners for the same die set to die cut a banner from the Daffodil Delight strip. This banner was glued to the card front and the circle, with the side trimmed off, added over top.

Whiskey Glasses

Here is a sweet card featuring whiskey glasses made using the Whiskey Business stamp set and some of the gorgeous In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (dsp).

To recreate the Whiskey Glasses card, you will need:

Basic Gray card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Bumblebee – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
In Good Taste dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic Gray – 3½” by 2⅛”
Whisper White – 3⅜” by 2”
Whisper White – 2⅝” by 1”
Whisper White – 5½” by 3¾

I  used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to glue the dsp to the Bumblebee panel and then to the Basic Gray card base. I love yellow and gray together don’t you.

Using Basic Gray ink I stamped the glass onto the strip of Whisper White. I stamped it again onto a Post It Note and cut it out to use as a mask.

I covered the stamped image with the mask and stamped the glass again on either side. I moved the mask again and stamped the glass again. I love it when you remove the mask for the great reveal.

Using the following Blends Markers, I coloured in the lasses – Cinnamon Cider, Mango Melody, Balmy Blue & Smoky Slate.

I added some Balmy Blue ink with a sponge around the glasses. The stamped layer was then glued to the Basic Gray layer using liquid glue. I then covered the ‘whiskey’ in the glasses with Shimmer Crystal Effects and set the panel aside to dry. This give a glass looking effect to the glasses.
