Stained-Glass Heart Card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Share It Sunday Blog Hop where we are sharing a project we have been working on recently. I have chosen to share a congratulations card designed, using the Friends For Life Dies and the stained glass window technique, to celebrate the wedding of my daughter and son in laws friends. I was inspired by a card made by Susan Wong for the Crafty Carrot……..

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the stained-glass heart card, you will need:

Azure Afternoon card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Shy Shamrock card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3 ½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Azure Afternoon card – 2½” by ¼”
Silver Foil – 3¼” by 3”
Scrap Basic White card

I ran the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine inside the So Swirly Embossing Folder. The embossed panel was then glued to the Shy Shamrock layer and then to the Azure Afternoon card base.

Using the Friends For Life Dies I die cut a solid heart from scrap Basic White card. The outline heart and the detailed heart were then placed onto the scrap Basic White card and secured together with washi tape from my stash. I then ran them through the Cut & Emboss Machine 4 times, cutting the heart apart from the outline each time. The outlines were set aside as I didn’t need them for this project.

I squirted some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive onto the Silicon craft sheet and used a piece of sponge from my stash to add the glue to the back of one of the detailed hearts which was then glued onto the solid white heart. I stacked two more detailed hearts on top.

The following Blends Pens were then used to colour in all the negative spaces – Azure Afternoon, Boho Blue, Blueberry Bushel, Misty Moonlight, Shy Shamrock and Shaded Spruce.

Then, I filled each negative space with a puddle of Fine Tip Glue and set it aside to dry for about 30 minutes. When the glue was dry and glossy, I glued the final white detailed heart in place hiding the messy edges created when I was colouring in the heart.

I die cut one last detailed heart from Silver Foil and glued it on top.

The sentiment, from the Something Fancy stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink onto the strip of Azure Afternoon. I covered it with Black Embossing Powder and heat set it. The ends were angled before the strip was added to the card front. A scattering of Iridescent Pearls completed the card.

Please hop on to share the inspiration provided by my stamping friends.

A pretty wedding card made using the Arrange a Wreath stamp set and Wreath dies by Stampin' Up!

Wedding Card

Today I am sharing a sweet wedding card made for my daughter and her new husband following their marriage yesterday. Like many other couples this year their wedding was postponed due to coronavirus – then at the beginning of July the Church of England announced that simple socially distanced weddings could take place if the church had already been booked – so we were on again….. so exciting.

Camilla and Dom had 10 guest at the wedding instead of the 100 originally planned, no choir or singing, no bridesmaids, best man and no reception as large get togethers are still forbidden. Basically they could have the legal part of the marriage performed. Camilla chose not to wear her wedding dress, she is going to wear it when the have a church blessing followed by the reception in 2 years time.

The colour scheme for the card was inspired by Camilla’s white wedding dress with a little silver beading and the dresses for her 2 bridesmaids which are in a deep purple.

To recreate the wedding card you will need:

Gorgeous Grape card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded upper left corner x 2
Gorgeous Grape 4” by 4”
Silver Foil – 4” by 4”
Highland Heather – 4” by 4”
Scrap Whisper White and Gorgeous Grape

I stamped the sentiment from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink onto one of the Whisper White panels . The panel was then embossed using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder and adhered to the Gorgeous Grape card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using the more detailed of the Wreath Dies I cut a wreath form the Gorgeous Grape square and the Silver Foil square. These were adhered together with the same liquid glue.

I die cut the larger leaf die from the Highland Heather card stock square and added it over top of the detailed wreaths with the liquid adhesive. The full wreath was then added to the card front on Mini Dimensionals.

From scrap Whisper White card I die cut the larger flower to represent the bride and the 2 smaller flowers were cut from the Gorgeous Grape scrap card to represent the bridesmaids. These were added to the wreath using Glue Dots.

Using the dark Highland Heather Blends marker I coloured in some Basic Pearls and added them to the centre of the flowers and around the sentiment.

A sweet card made using the Piece of Cake stamp set and co-ordinating Cake Builder Punch

Wedding Cake for the Stampin ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to February’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where this month’s theme is Love.  If you have hopped over form Andre Gordon’s blog I am sure you loved his gorgeous project. I decided to use the gorgeous Piece of Cake stamp set and co-ordinating Cake Builder Punch to make a wedding cake card for the daughter of a friend who is marrying in the spring.

Making the card

I started by stamping the floral cake image, so pretty, in Early Espresso ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Cake Builder Punch. I coloured the flowers in using the Lovely Lipstick Combo Blends Pens, Call Me Clover Combo Blends Pens, dark Balmy Blue blend Pen and the Light Daffodil Delight Blend Pen.

I punched the cake stand out from some of the gorgeous Lovely Lipstick Foil which is one of the free Sale-a-Bration items you can choose with a £45 order. I stuck the cake to the stand with a dimensional where they joined at the back and added a couple more dimensionals to support the cake and stand.

Taking a panel of Whisper White cardstock 4¾” by 3”. I mounted the smaller of the 2 Bokeh Dot stamps from the Beauty Abounds stamp set. I inked it up in Lovely Lipstick ink, stamped off twice and stamped it onto the lower right hand corner of the panel. I repeated this twice more before inked up with Call Me Clover then Balmy Blue stamping each off twice.

I stamped the sentiment from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Lovely Lipstick ink in the lower left hand corner. The cake and stand was then added over the bokeh dots on the dimensionals.

The Whisper White stamped layer was the added to a piece of Lovely Lipstick Foil 5” by 1½” using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a length of Lovely Lipstick ⅛” Grosgrain Ribbon around the top of the panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape. I added a bow made from the same ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot. The whole panel was then added to a Thick Whisper White card base with Dimensionals.

I coloured in 3 Basic Pearls using the dark Call Me Clover, dark Lovely lipstick and dark Balmy Blue Blends Pen before scattering them around the cake and stand.

I love this card, such pretty colours. I hope you like it..
