Sending Smiles Classes

Today I am sharing the cards made for my April Classes using the Sending Smiles stamp set and Sending Dies.

Shadow Box Card

Thick Basic White card base 5¾” by 4⅛x 2”– scored at ½” & 1” on both log sides
Scrap Basic White

Using the Stylish Shapes Dies we cut a circle in the centre panel one of the Thick Basic White card pieces, slightly nearer the top and centred from side to side between the 1” scorelines. The two pieces were placed one on top of the other and drew around the inside of the negative circle, lightly using a pencil.

The large circle from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set was inked up, ½ with Granny Apple Green and the other half with Fresh Freesia buy pressing the inkpad directly to the stamp. We stamped it over the pencil circle which was then erased. The sentiment was then stamped onto the circle.

The scorelines were folded and burnished, the 1” scoreline inwards and the ½” scoreline outwards. A strip of Tear ‘n Tape applied to the outer two sections of the back panel. The front was then adhered to the back, one side at a time.

A selection of foliage and flowers were stamped onto the scrap Basic White panel and die cut using the Sending Dies. We then arranged the flowers around the aperture.

The circle image was inked up in the same way as for the previous card using the same Granny Apple Green and Fresh Freesia inks and stamped towards to top of the smaller Basic White panels.

The leafy sprig was stamped twice, once facing upwards and once facing downwards in Granny Apple Green ink. The flowers were added in Gorgeous Grape ink with centres of Daffodil Delight ink. The stamped panel was then added, off set, to the Granny Apple Green panel with liquid glue.

We stamped the smaller flower in Fresh Freesia ink in the upper left and lower right corners of the Fresh Freesia card front and added the decorated panel overtop on Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the one happy family was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto the strip of Fresh Freesia and added it, trimming the ends, across the card front.

Double Flower card

Granny Apple Green card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Gorgeous Grape – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White – 5¼” by 3½”

A pretty thank you card made using the Queen Anne's Lace and Watercolor Shapes stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Queen Anne’s Lace thank you card

Today I am using the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set to make a pretty thank you card. Sadly this beautiful stamp set is on the retiring list and is definitely one to grab if you can. The images are so delicate and pretty.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the Queen Anne’s lace card, you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅝” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Basic Gray card – 4⅞” by 3⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 4¾” by 3” – rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Scrap Basic White card

Using the floral image, I randomly stamped all over the Bermuda Bay card front with Bermuda Bay ink.

The Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop using a scrap piece of inked Vellum die cut into a trio of butterflies

Trio of Butterflies for the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we are using something from our stash in a project today. I have a piece of inked vellum on my craft desk, left over from September’s classes – see the post on the 17th September 2021, and have used it to make a card featuring a trio of butterflies.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the double butterfly card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Magenta Madness card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner – for the inside
Vellum – big enough to die cut your butterflies

I used Magenta Madness, Dark Pumpkin Pie and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends Alcohol Markers to scribble blocks of colour all over the Vellum taking care not to overlap the colours which would contaminate the lighter colour nibs.

The Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop using a scrap piece of inked Vellum die cut into a trio of butterflies

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A beautiful card featuring a trio of butterflies made from inked vellum for the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Using a pipette filled with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and smacked it against a Bone Folder to spray small dots of alcohol all over the Vellum. This allows the ink to start spreading, such a cool effect. The Vellum piece was then set aside to dry.

Using second generation Pale Papaya ink I stamped the larger circle image from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set in the centre of the smaller Basic White panel. The dotty image was stamped in full strength Pale Papaya randomly across the stamped circle.

Taking the dry vellum panel and the Brilliant Wings Dies I die cut 3 of the small butterflies. Vellum can be tricky to die cut with a detailed die and I find placing the die, cutting side up gives me the best cut. I used the Take Your Pick Die Brush to get out the fiddly pieces.

The sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped in Magenta Madness ink. The stamped panel was then glued to the Magenta Madness layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the Thick Basic White card front using the same liquid glue.

The butterflies were added to the card front on Mini Glue Dots and the card decorated with a trio of 2021 – 2023 In Color Jewels.

I hope you like it.

Masculine Shapes for the Share It Sunday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Share It Sunday Blog Hop where we are sharing a project we have been working on. I am sharing a masculine shapes card today.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the masculine shapes card, you will need:

Mint Macaron card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Smoky Slate card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I stamped the large oval in So Saffron ink onto the smaller panel of Basic White, added the thinner oval in Mint Macaron and finally stamping the small circle in Smoky Slate ink.

This pattern, such as it is, was repeated down the length of the panel.

The stamped panel was then placed in the Stamparatus and the sentiment, from the Biggest Wish stamp set, was inked up with Basic Gray ink and stamped. I used the Stamparatus so that I could restamp the sentiment to get a darker image.

The stamped panel was added with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the Smoky Slate panel. The whole piece was then added to the Mint Macaron card base on Dimensionals.
