The 2 banners were the glued together with the Blueberry Bushel banner sticking out on the right-hand side. The whole piece was then mounted to the card front on Dimensionals over the loop of ribbon.

A card featuring a couple running through the mountains

Do the Impossible

Today I am sharing the card I made my husband for Valentine’s Day. He is a mad keen runner and loves the outdoors so the Do the Impossible and Mountain Air stamp sets were perfect.

To recreate the Do the Impossible Valentine card you will need:

Shaded Spruce card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Poppy Parade – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜ by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner x 2
Whisper White – 2” by ½”

I began by stamping the runners from the Do the Impossible stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto one of the Whisper White panels. I stamped the same image on PostIt tape and cut out the figures using sharp scissors. These were then used to cover the figures acting as masks.

Next I stamped the mountains from the Mountain Air stamp set – detailed mountains in full strength Soft Suede, background mountains in 2nd generation Soft Suede then 1st , 2nd  and  3rd generation Sahara Sand.

Tree line was stamped in full strength Shaded Spruce. I added the ‘path’ using some of the images from the My Meadow stamp set and 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Crumb Cake ink. I used the tree line stamp from the Mountain Air stamp set, stamped in Balmy Blue to provide the water.

The masks were then peeled off revealing the runner. They were coloured in using the following Blends Markers – girl in Poppy Parade como, Highland Heather combo, Ivory and Bronze and the man in Pretty Peacock combo and Call Me Clover combo, Ivory and light Smoky Slate. I used the Crumb Cake combo to fill in the white space around the images.

I stamped the sun in So Saffron ink and used a sponge and Balmy Blue ink to add the sky. The birds were stamped in Early Espresso ink. The inked panel was glued to the Poppy Parade layer and this was added to the Shaded Spruce card base with Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Balmy Blue ink, the end was flagged and the sentiment added with Liquid Adhesive. I really hope my husband likes the card.
