The Calming Camellia stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to made a softly, pretty floral card

Calming Camellia

Today, I have been playing with the gorgeous Calming Camellia stamp set which is free with a £275 order. I love these textured floral stamps as you can get fantastic results with minimal supplies.

Vintage Harvest for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are showcasing projects with a vintage theme. I have to say ‘vintage’ is way out of my comfort zone so this was quite a challenge for me.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the vintage harvest card, you will need:

Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Very Vanilla card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Blushing Bride card – 5¼” by 3½”
Very Vanilla card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Soft Suede & Early Espresso

Using one of the images from the Natural Textures stamp set, I stamped all over the panel of Blushing Bride in Blushing Bride ink to give a subtle texture. I then tore down the right side of the panel. I used a Dauber to Crumb Cake ink around the edge of the piece.

I tore the edge of the smaller Very Vanilla piece and inked along the torn edge with the same ink.

I wrapped a length of Lace Trim around the Blushing Bride panel and added it to the Very Vanilla piece. The whole panel was added to the Crumb Cake card base. I inked around that as well with the Crumb Cake ink.

Using the Harvest Dies, I die cut the stems and flowers from scrap Soft Suede and Early Espresso card. I though the flowerhead was too dark so die cut it again from Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla card……….couldn’t make my mind up which I would like better. I used the speckle image from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set to stamp on the potential flowerheads with Soft Suede ink.

The Soft Suede stems were added to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added the Early Espresso stems with Mini Dimensionals. I added the Blushing Bride flowerhead, then decided I liked the Very Vanilla so I added it on top, on Dimensionals, but slightly offset so that you see both. How’s that for indecision……….

Harvest Coneflowers for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Colour Combo Blog Hop where I have made a sweet harvest coneflowers thank you card. I love this hop as often the colours are not ones I would have gravitated towards or not those I would have put together and tis is certainly the case today.

The colours we have been given are:

To recreate the harvest coneflowers thank you card, you will need:

Cinnamon Cider card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Very Vanilla – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Cork dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Blushing Bride – 4⅞” by 3⅛”
Very Vanilla – 4½” by 3”
Very Vanilla – 5½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside
Scrap Very Vanilla

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, I adhered the Cork dsp to the larger Very Vanilla panel. The layer was then added, using the same liquid glue, to the Cinnamon Cider card base.

The pretty coneflowers were stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card.

I used the following Stampin’ Write Markers to colour in the flowers, stems and leaves – Cinnamon Cider, Blushing Bride & Mango Melody. The flowers were then die cut using the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and the harvest dies.

I stamped the smudgy image (I know – but I don’t know what else to call it) in 2nd generation Blushing Bride ink onto the smallest panel of Very Vanilla card and the die cut flower added on top with Dimensionals under the flowers and the stems added with liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink and a length of Flirty Flamingo Gold Metallic Ribbon wrapped around the panel and adhered on the back with Sellotape. The panel was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

A trio of Elegant Faceted Dots were added to the card to finish it.

I hope you like the card. Please hop on to see what Sonja Kindler has to share with us today.
