The Botanical Layers stamp set by Stampin Up! used to make a trio of striped botanical cards

A Trio of Striped Botanical cards

Here are a trio of striped botanical cards inspired by cards made by Dena Rekow of the Creativity Cave. I love the look of this technique and wanted to use it to make an anniversary card for my husband.

Colours in these cards are:

To recreate these cards, you will need:

3 card bases – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner – I used Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia
3 Basic Black card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” – rounded upper left corners
3 Basic White card – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corners
3 coloured panels – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corners – I used Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia
3 Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corners

I used a Stamparatus to stamp the image from the Botanical layers stamp set, any stamp positioner would work. The 3 panels of 5” by 3¼” Basic White card and the coloured panels of the same size were mounted on the platform, one at a time and the image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on each layer.

The Botanical Layers stamp set by Stampin Up! used to make a trio of striped botanical cards

The coloured panels were then cut down in ½” increments starting at the bottom. The first ½” piece was discarded and the 3 other ½” strip in each colour were put to one side.

A pretty tiled card made for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop using the Hexagon Punch and Masterfully Made designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

Tiled Masterfully Made card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using punches. I have used the new Hexagon Punch to make a tiled card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the tiled card, you will need:

Fresh Freesia card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Berry Burst card – 4⅞” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 4¼” – this was eventually cut down to 4¾” by 3¾”
Masterfully Made dsp – 5¼” by 4¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

Using the new Hexagon Punch, available for a short time in my Online Store, I carefully punched the hexagons from the panel of Masterfully Made dsp, taking care to keep them close together to preserve the pattern.

The punched hexagons were then adhered to the 5¼” by 4¼” panel of Basic White, again taking care to leave a little space between each piece.

The panel was then trimmed down, using a Paper Trimmer, to 4¾” by 3¾” and adhered to the Berry Burst layer.

The whole panel was mounted onto the Fresh Freesia card base.

The sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst ink onto scrap Basic White card. I trimmed it down with Scissors.

A strip of Tear ‘n Tape was added to the back of the sentiment and a piece of Azure Afternoon Ribbon was adhered along the bottom with the silver edging visible. I cut of the over hand and added it to the card front.
