A lovely thank you card using the Painted Seasons sale-a-bration bundle

Painted Seasons for the Inspire Create #038 challenge

Today I am sharing a card made for the Inspire Create #038 Challenge using the Painted Seasons stamp set and Designer Series Paper (dsp) which are available as Sale-a-Bration choices, free with a £90 order. The dsp is available on its own with a £45 order.

Making the card

I started by choosing a piece of the gorgeous designer series paper and cutting it to 5” by 2¼”. I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to add it to a Thick Whisper White card front.

Next I stamped the flower onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Poppy Parade ink, I love this colour. I die cut it out using the Four Seasons dies and my Big Shot. I stamped the leaves again onto scrap Whisper White cardstock in Mossy Meadow ink and used the same dies to cut them out. I also die cut a couple of leaves from Vellum.

I added the Mossy Meadow leaves behind the stamped flower using a dab of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The flower piece was then added to the stitched circle. This circle was added to the card front with Dimensionals and the vellum leaves tucked underneath with a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock ¼” wide in Mossy Meadow ink. I then flagged both ends with my Banner Triple Punch before adding it with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. As a finishing touch I added a trio of Red Rhinestones and rounded the upper right corner……….I know I couldn’t help myself…….

A lovely fresh looking thank you card made using the First Frost stamp set for the Stampers Showcase blog hop

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the first Stampers Showcase Blog Hop, I am thrilled to be part of this exciting new venture and am looking forward to hopping with some of my fellow demonstrators from around the world. If you have begun the hop with me, my name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. Our theme this month is ‘Thanks’ – I don’t know about you but I always need thank you cards.

I have chosen the First Frost stamp set to make my card. This set has carried over from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and I find these sets often get forgotten in the excitement of all that the Spring/Summer catalogue brings.

Making the Stampers Showcase card

A lovely fresh looking thank you card made using the First Frost stamp set for the Stampers Showcase blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – a sweet thank you card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop using the First Frost stamp set

I began by taking a Whisper White layer measuring 5¼” by 3½” and rounding the upper left corner with the Detailed Trio Punch. I then lightly drew a line in pencil about 1¼” from the top, I drew another pencil line about 1½” below that. This is to help me with stamp placement.

A lovely fresh looking thank you card made using the First Frost stamp set for the Stampers Showcase blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – a sweet thank you card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop using the First Frost stamp set

I inked up the largest flower using Berry Burst ink and stamped it 3 times going above and below both pencil lines. I inked up the small flower in Balmy Blue ink and randomly stamped again above and below the lines. Next I inked up the top of the long leafy image in Lemon Lime Twist ink and filled in some of the gaps. Finally I inked up the thistle image in Fresh Fig ink and randomly added stamped them on both sides of the line. I set the panel aside to dry before rubbing out the pencil lines.

I mounted the stamped panel onto a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” with a rounded upper left corner and then added the whole piece to a Fresh Fig card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

www.crafty-rootes.com – a sweet thank you card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop using the First Frost stamp set

I ran the ‘thanks’ from the Well Written dies through my Big Shot 3 times with scrap Fresh Fig cardstock and glued each layer one on top of the other using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4⅛” by 1⅜” and stamped the ‘for everything’ from the Well Said stamp set in Berry Burst ink and added the ‘thanks’ just above with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The Whisper White layer was added to a piece of Fresh Fig 4⅛” by 1½” using liquid adhesive and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the piece to the card front.

www.crafty-rootes.com – a sweet thank you card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop using the First Frost stamp set

Using the sweet little Bitty Blooms Punches I stamped flowers and flower centres from scrap Fresh Fig, Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. I added the centres with Mini Glue dots and used the same adhesive to adhere the flowers to the card front. As a final touch I painted the small flowers with Clear Wink of Stella.

I love this colour combo, so fresh and cheerful looking.

Please continue to enjoy the hop by clicking on the ‘next’ button. See you next month.

A sweet thank you card for the CTD 530 challenge

Hello Cupcake for the CTD530 colour challenge

Today I am sharing a sweet card made using the Hello Cupcake stamp set for the CTD530 colour challenge. This stamp set is so versatile and so easy to use. I love it.

Making the card

I started by stamping the cupcake case in Smoky Slate ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I also stamped the frosting in Berry Burst ink on the same piece of scrap Whisper White. Using my scissors I cut them out – the good news is that on the 1st March a new set of dies will be available to cut out these images…….hooray……I am not a big fan of fussy cutting. I added the frosting to the cupcake case with a little Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and set it to one side.

A lovely sunny card made using the Beach Happy stamp set for the Freshly Made Sketches #373 challenge

Beach Happy for the Freshly Made Sketches #373 challenge

When the weather is so cold and snowy I really, really crave some sunny beachy weather, so today I made a card for the Freshly Made Sketches using the new Beach Happy stamp set.

Making the card

A lovely sunny card made using the Beach Happy stamp set for the Freshly Made Sketches #373 challenge

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beach Happy stamp set used for the Freshly Made Sketches #373 Challenge

I started with a panel of Watercolor Paper 3½” by 2⅜”. I placed the watercolor paper in the Stamparatus; I find I often have to re-stamp the image on Watecolor Paper to get a crisp image. After a bit of trial and error I found it easier to stamp the striped cloth of the deckchair first in Blueberry Bushel ink. I then stamped the frame of the deckchair and the parasol with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I stamped the infill of the parasol with So Saffron ink and added the leaves in 1st and 2nd generation Mossy Meadow ink. I added the ‘ground’ in Crumb Cake and So Saffron ink with my Aquapainter. I added the stamped layer to a panel of So Saffron 3⅝” by 2½” with liquid adhesive.

I took a Blueberry Bushel card base and added a strip of Mossy Meadow and a strip of So Saffron, both ⅜” wide, at an angle across the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added a ¼” strip of Whisper White below the other two strips and added the stamped piece over the top on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Sweet card made for the Global Design #172 challenge to CASE a card

Needle & Thread for GDP #172 Challenge

Today I am sharing a card made for the Global Design Project – GDP #172 Challenge which this week is CASE’ing this gorgeous card designed by Shawn De Oliveira.

Making the card

I really liked the simplicity of the card and started by taking a panel of Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” and embossed the left hand side using my Big Shot and one of the lovely Petal Pairs embossing folders. I wanted to keep the effect of the leaves from Shawn’s card.

A sweet card made using the Seasoned With Kindness hostess stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Seasoned With Kindness

Today I have been using the Seasoned With Kindness stamp set to make a sweet thank you card. This is such a sweet stamp set with great images to use for 2 or 3 step stamping.

Making the Seasoned With Kindness card

I started with a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4¾” by 3⅛”. I inked up the outline pot stamp with Early Espresso ink and stamped it 3 times from left to right. I then stamped in inside of the pots using Balmy Blue ink.

A sweet card made using the Seasoned With Kindness hostess stamp set by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com -Seasoned with kindness by Stampin Up

Starting with the pot on the right, I stamped the outline of the plant in Pear Pizzazz ink and the inside of the plant in 2nd generation Pear Pizzazz ink. The leaves of the centre plant were stamped in Garden Green ink and the inside of the leaves in 2nd generation Garden Green. I added the flower in Lovely Lipstick ink.

The plant in the left hand pot was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink and I stamped the tiny sentiment label in Granny Apple Green ink and fussy cut it out. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the bottom of the card and tied it in a bow.

I added the stamped layer to a layer of Early Espresso cardstock measuring 4⅞” by 3¼” using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added this to a layer of Lovely Lipstick cardstock 5” by 3⅝” using the same glue.

I had originally planned to add this layer to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base but on reflection decided it needed something more. After trying a few different options I settled on a piece of Wood Textures dsp cut at 5⅞” by 4⅛” which I cut in half diagonally and added this to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive adding the stamped layer over top on dimensionals.

This is such a sweet card. I hope you like it.

Country Home and Jar of Love card

Country Jar of Love

I have had a great time today making a Country Jar card using both the Jar of Love stamp set and the Country Home stamp set. They combine beautifully.

Making the Country Jar card

I began by stamping the medium jar image from the Jar of Love stamp set onto a scrap piece of Tropical Escape dsp. I cut the jar out using the Everyday Jar framelits and my Big Shot and cut away the screw top to the jar with my scissors.

Country Home and Jar of Love card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Country Home stamp set and Jar of Love stamp sets combine to make a sweet card

I took a panel of Watercolor Paper measuring 4⅛” by 3” and stamped the floral image from the Country Home stamp set towards the top using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. For my colour palette I chose Smoky Slate for the cotton buds, Blushing Bride for the seed pods, Mint Macaron for the leaves, So Saffron for the larger buds, and Flirty Flamingo for the central flower and Blackberry Bliss for the small buds. I squeezed ink into the lid of each pad and used my Aquapainter to apply the colour.

When the ink was dried I added the watercolour panel, with Multipurpose Glue, to a piece of Tropical Escape dsp measuring 4⅛” by 3⅜” leaving a slightly larger border on the left.  The die cut jar was then added using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The panel was then added to the front of a Blushing Bride card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Using a Mini Glue Dot I added a Rich Razzelberry bow to the top of the jar, made using the Nature’s Twine.

I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink onto a ⅜” wide scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and banner punched the ends using the Tailored Tag punch. This was adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. To complete the card I added some Blackberry Bliss faceted dots.

For the inside of the card I added a panel of Very Vanilla decorated with a strip of the same dsp. I used another dsp strip on the side of a Very Vanilla envelope. I am really happy with the look of this card.
