A stricking flowers on black thank you card made using the flower & field dsp by Stampin' Up!

Flowers on Black for the Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are showcasing projects we have been working on. If you saw my blog post on the 31st January you will be aware that I have been enjoying playing with the fussy cut flowers and leaves from one of the sheets of Flower & Field dsp. I am using the flowers again today to make a thank you card.

If you have hopped over from Annette’s blog, welcome.

To recreate the Flowers & Field card, you will need:

Basic Black – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black – 5½”” by 3⅝”
Basic White – 5½”” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Basic Black – 3½” by 2½”

I started by running the Basic Black panel through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder. This was glued to the Basic Black card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using Versamark ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Heal Your Heart stamp set onto the small piece of Basic Black card. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. This was then die cut using the Stitched Shapes dies and my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

A beautifil thank you card made using the ornate Garden designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

Ornate Garden

Today I am casing a card I made back in October. This time I am using the lovely Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper for a simple thank you card.

To recreate the Most Wonderful Time card, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Pear Pizzazz – 5¼” by 3½ “
Ornate Garden dsp -5” by 1” x 3”
Whisper White – 3” by 2½”
Scrap Whisper White

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, I glued the 3 strips of the Ornate Garden designer series paper (dsp) to the Pear Pizzazz panel. I always place the 2 side panels first, getting the border as even as possible. I can then add the centre strip making sure it is an equal distance from the other 2 strips. You also need to match up your pattern so don’t mix the up!

A lovely floral gilded art card made using Stampin' Up! product from the new Jan-June 2021 catalogue

Gilded Art for the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where our theme this month is ‘New Goodies’. I have chosen to make a gilded art card for you. With the January – June 2021 and Sale-A-Bration catalogues coming out on the 5th January and lots of goodies from my pre-order to play with, I have been spoilt for choice. If you have hopped on from Karen Egan I am sure you loved her project

To recreate the gilded art card, you will need:

Just Jade card base – 8¼ by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Gorgeous Grape – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
Scrap Whisper White

I really, really wanted to play with the gilding flakes but didn’t have any Heat & Stick Powder – so I improvised by sticking strips of Tear & Tape along all 4 sides of one of the Whisper White panels. I removed the backing and covered the tape with the flakes, rubbed them onto the tape with my fingers to remove the excess flakes and bring out the shine. I absolutely love the effect.

Watercolour Art

Here is a sweet watercolour art floral card made using a lovely new bundle – Art Gallery stamp set and Floral Gallery Dies – which is coming in the January – June 2021 catalogue and will be available from the 5th January.

To recreate the watercolour art card, you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Gorgeous Grape – 3⅝” by 2½” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 3¾” by 2⅝” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜ by 3⅝ – Rounded upper right corner
Gorgeous Grape – 4” by ⅜”
Whisper White scrap

I started by stamping the ‘flower centre’ image in Flirty Flamingo ink all over the Flirty Flamingo card base to add a bit of texture to the card.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -Floral Watercolour Art card made using the the Art Gallery stamp set and Floral Gallery dies

Markers in Flirty Flamingo, Just Jade & Gorgeous Grape were used to colour in the gorgeous stamp from the Art Gallery stamp set. I then took a spritzer filed with water and sprayed the inked up stamp a couple of times. I then stamped the image onto the smaller panel of Whisper White, making sure to leave it on the card stock to let the ink soak in. Don’t you just love the effect this gives?

It took a couple of minutes for the ink to dry before I added the stamped layer to the Gorgeous Grape layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a piece of Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon around the panel before adding it to the card base on Dimensionals.

Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop using Gray Granite, Real Red and Cinnamon Cider inks

Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and thank you for joining me for the Colour Combo Blog Hop where you will find lots of inspiration using this month’s colours which are Cinnamon Cider, Gray Granite & Real Red. Don’t you think this is a really unusual colour combo? If you are starting the hop with me or have joined from Amanda Farlinger’s blog, you are very welcome.

To recreate the colour combo card, you will need:

Gray Granite card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner
Real Red card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded lower right corner
Whisper White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 – Rounded lower right corner
Real Red card – 3⅝” by 1⅛”
Whisper White card – 3⅝” by 1”

Taking one of the Whisper White panels and some Post It Notes I masked off a 1” strip about ⅔ up from the bottom.

I decided to use the Forever Fern stamp set to make my card and started by inking up the largest leafy image with Gray Granite ink. The image was stamped above and below the masked off strip.

Next, I added the round leafed image using the Real Red ink. I filled in the gaps using the 2 smaller leafy images in Cinnamon Cider ink. I love that we have the same image going in different directions.

To pull the whole thing together I added a scattering of dots from the same stamp set using Gray Granite ink. The Post It Notes were then removed and the whole layer was added to the Real Red layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then to the Gray Granite card base using the same glue.

The sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set was stamped on the strip of Whisper White in Real Red ink. I decided it looked unfinished so stamped again on either side of the sentiment using the Gray Granite and Cinnamon Cider inks. I liked that much better.

The sentiment strip was then added to the Real Red strip using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, then to the card front on Dimensionals. I added a scattering of Red Rhinestones to complete the card.

I love these colours together, don’t you?
