Grassy Grove card for the Christmas Stampathon

Today I am sharing the card made for the Christmas Stampathon challenge. This month’s theme is ‘Texture’ and I have chosen to use the Grassy Grove stamp set and Grove Die to make my cards.

Colours used in my card are:

To recreate the grassy grove card:

Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Mossy Meadow card – 4¾” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 4½” by 3”
Scrap Basic White card

Using the large back ground image I stamped across the bottom of the Balmy Blue card front. I added the trio of trees on either side using the same ink. A couple of strips of Silver Ribbon were adhered to the card front with Tear ‘n Tape.

I die cut 2 Deckled Rectangles from scrap Basic White card. I tore 2 strips from the bottom of one of the rectangles and inked them with a Blending Brush and Pool Party ink.

Using Balmy Blue ink, I inked the edges of the other deckled rectangle. The Pool Party inked pieces were then added to the bottom with the lowest one on Dimensionals. The whole piece was then glued to the Mossy Meadow Deckled Rectangle. I glued this to the Balmy Blue card front.

The double trees were stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto scrap Basic White card. The trees were then die cut using the Grove dies and added to the panel with either liquid glue or Dimensionals.

Textured Botanicals card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing techniques to add texture to a project. I have used the new Botanical Layers stamp set with heat embossing, ink blending and distressing techniques.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the textured botanicals card, you will need:

Gray Granite card base – 8¼” by 5⅝” scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” x 2, one for the inside
Starry Sky card – 3 ¾” by ¾”
Scrap Basic White & Vellum

I began by stamping the largest leafy image in Starry Sky ink randomly onto one of the Basic White panels. I added the delicate flowery plumes in Gray Granite ink.

Making sure the stamped panel was dry I stamped the reedy type image in Versamark ink, randomly over the panel. I covered it with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

Using the blade of my scissors I roughed up the edges all the way around the panel. I curled the upper left corner using a Bone Folder to break down the fibres of the cardstock. Using a Blending Brush, I added Starry Sky ink all the way around the edge of the panel and used a Starry Sky Blends Pen to add colour all the way around the edges.

Add the strip of Starry Sky card across the centre using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Wrap a piece of Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon around the panel, securing on the back with Sellotape. Adhere the whole panel to the Gray Granite card base with the same liquid glue.

Stamp the sentiment in Starry Sky ink onto scrap Basic White and die cut it using the Layering Circle Dies. Mount on a slightly larger circle die cut from a scrap of Vellum. Add the sentiment to the card front on Dimensionals.

To complete the card, I added a bow using the same ribbon and coloured a trio of Basic Rhinestones with a Starry Sky Blends Pen before adding them to the card.

I hope you like it.

Please continue around the hop to share the techniques used by fellow demos.
