Gorgeous butterfly themed cards made using the Butterfly Bijou dsp by Stampin' Up! for a class in the mail

Butterfly Bijou Class in the Mail

Today I am sharing the projects I designed for my April Cass in the Mail using the gorgeous Butterfly Bijou designer Series Paper (dsp). This paper is stunning, I am so sad that it is only available until May or while stocks last.

Each pack contained all the card stock needed to make each card including the pre embossed panel for the two butterfly card, 6 sheets of the Butterfly Bijou dsp – I die cut the butterflies from one of the sheets for those who don’t have the Brilliant Wings dies  and I cut the dsp panels for those without a paper trimmer. A strip of Oval Rounds, a gold hoop and a little treat. The ladies provided their own sentiments.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Pink Butterfly card, you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Misty Moonlight layer – 4⅛” by 3⅛”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Butterfly Bijou dsp – 4” by 3”
Basic White – 4⅛” by ½”

The piece of dsp was glued to the Misty Moonlight panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the Bermuda Bay card front on Dimensionals.

A butterfly was added using the liquid glue and the card was decorated with the lovely Oval Rounds.

To recreate the Two Butterfly card, you will need:

Misty Moonlight card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Butterfly Bijou dsp – 5⅞” by 1”
Butterfly Bijou dsp 5⅜ by 3⅜”
Basic White layer – 5⅛” by 3⅛” – embossed

The long strip of dsp was glued to the Misty Moonlight card base using the liquid glue

We added the embossed panel to the larger panel of dsp using the same glue. The panel was embossed using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. The whole piece was then mounted on the Misty Moonlight card base using Dimensionals.

We added the Gold Hoop to the card front using liquid adhesive and the butterflies were added on Dimensionals. The card was decorated with the Oval Rounds

To recreate the Fun Fold Butterfly card, you will:

Calypso Coral card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” & 2”
Misty Moonlight – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Basic White – 5⅜“ by 3⅝” x 2
Strips of Butterfly Bijou dsp – 2 ½” long, various widths
¼” Strip of Butterfly Bijou

We folded and burnished the card base, the centre panel in half then the other score line back on itself – this makes a Z shape.

The DSP strips were glued to one of the Basic White panels – I alternated butterfly patterns with non-butterfly patterns.

The decorated panel was added to the Misty Moonlight layer and then t the card front, adhering only the left side.

A butterfly was added with liquid glue and decorated with the Oval Rounds.

Customer Thank You cards – For Kylie Bertucci’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog.  My name is Mo Rootes from Cambridge in the UK and I am thrilled to be taking part in my first blog hop with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie Bertucci’s demonstrator training program. The theme for the hop is ‘Thank You’ and I am sure you will find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us

You may be starting here or have come from another blog – either way you can find the hop list at the bottom of this post so please hop along with us today.

To recreate my Customer Thank You card you, will need:

Merry Merlot card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Oh So Ombre dsp – 4¾” by 3¼” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White card – 4½” by 3” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner
Scrap Whisper White

This month my customer thank you cards feature a couple of sneak peaks showing new product which will be available from the 5th January 2021 in the January – June 2021 mini catalogue and the January – February 2021 Sale-A-Bration Brochure. My ladies love a sneak peek.

I began by stamping the stem and leaves from the gorgeous new stamp set called Art Gallery stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink onto the smaller Whisper White panel. The panel was then run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I love the texture this gives to the layer.

The stamped and embossed panel was added, with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the Oh So Ombre dsp – one of the free choices with a £45 order in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

I used a piece of the Ornated Garden Ribbon to wrap around the panel, adhering it on the back with Sellotape. Yes, I know the ribbon is Old Olive but it tones so well with the Granny Apple Green ink that I think I can get away with it..  The whole piece was then added to the Merry Merlot card base using the same liquid glue.

The flower is a 3-step image and I started by stamping the solid image in Flirty Flamingo ink. I added the more detailed image in Merry Merlot ink and finished with the small, centre in Early Espresso ink. Doesn’t it look fabulous….. I cut is out using the co-ordinating Floral Gallery dies and added it to the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink, cut it out with one of the sweet labels from the same die set and added it to the card with liquid adhesive. The pearls were coloured with a Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker and added to the card front to complete the card.

I hope you and my customers like the cards.

Please hop on to see what my fellow demos have to share with us today.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A Poppy themed sympathy card made for the Hopping Around The World Blog Hop

I inked up the speckled image in Smoky Slate ink, stamped it off onto my grid paper then stamped it the 2nd and 3rd generation ink onto the stamped layer.

I ran the Merry Merlot layer through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. The stamped layer was then added to the embossed layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using the ‘speckled’ image again, I stamped around the Smoky Slate card base in 2nd & 3rd generation Smoky Slate ink.

The stamped layer was then added to the card front on Dimensionals and a trio of Silver Metallic Pearls added to complete the card.
