A Poppy Sympathy card . Thank you for joining me for the Hopping Around the World Blog hop where our theme is ‘Sympathy’. If you have hopped over from Rachel Macleod’s blog, welcome, you are currently visiting Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. I have chosen to use the Painted Poppies stamp set to make my card today.
To recreate the Poppy Sympathy card, you will need:
Smoky Slate card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Merry Merlot – 5” by 3⅜” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 4¼” by 3” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper right corner – for the inside
I stamped the pretty poppy image from the Painted Poppy stamp set onto the smaller Whisper White panel in Basic Gray ink. Using the Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce Blends Markers I coloured in the poppy.
The Sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped in Merry Merlot ink beside the poppy.
I inked up the speckled image in Smoky Slate ink, stamped it off onto my grid paper then stamped it the 2nd and 3rd generation ink onto the stamped layer.
I ran the Merry Merlot layer through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. The stamped layer was then added to the embossed layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
Using the ‘speckled’ image again, I stamped around the Smoky Slate card base in 2nd & 3rd generation Smoky Slate ink.
The stamped layer was then added to the card front on Dimensionals and a trio of Silver Metallic Pearls added to complete the card.
I love the simplicity of this card I hope you like it.
Please hop on to see what the lovely Melanie Igelbrink has to share with us this month.
