Jan 2019 Stamp 'N Hop blog hop using the Lovely Lattice stamp set

Lovely Lattice used for the Stamp’N Hop blog hop

Hello and welcome to January’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where this month’s theme is Sale-a-Bration.  I love, love, love Sale-a-Bration……free stuff….oh yes bring it on and such great stuff as well.

If you have hopped over from Vicki Hunter  I am sure you enjoyed the project she shared as much as I did. After a lot of deliberation I have chosen to use the stunning stamp set called Lovely Lattice to make my card as I love the versatility of this set.

 Making the card

I started with a panel of Watercolor Paper measuring 5¼” by 3½” and stamped the large gorgeous image from the Lovely Lattice stamp set in Versamark ink and yes I did remember to use my embossing buddy, whoop whoop. I covered the panel with White embossing powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool.

Jan 2019 Stamp 'N Hop blog hop using the Lovely Lattice stamp set

ww.crafty-rootes.com – Lovely Lattice stamp set used for the Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop

I wanted to watercolor this image and find the easiest way to do this is to use my ink pad to press some ink onto a clear block and colour with an Aquapainter. I used Coastal Cabana for the flowers, starting with a light touch and adding more layers of colour to give depth and dimension. The flower centres were coloured using So Saffron ink and Granny Apple Green was used for the leaves. I added Smoky Slate around the whole image to ground it and also coloured the lattice area with the Smoky Slate again adding depth by layering up the colour.

The sentiment from the Amazing life stamp set was stamped in Versamark onto a scrap of Basic Gray cardstock, covered in White embossing powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the upper left and lower right corner of the stamped layer and a layer of So Saffron measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” and a layer of Coastal Cabana measuring 5⅝” by 3⅞” and adhered the layers together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The finished topper was then added to a Smoky Slate card base and the sentiment was added using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. To finish the card I added a scatter of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

I absolutely love this card, the soft colours work so well with this image. Please hop along to see what the lovely Susan Simpson is sharing with us today.

Bloom By Bloom stamp set and Spring colours used for the December Stamp 'N hop blog hop

Bloom by Bloom

Hello and welcome to December’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where the theme this month is our favourite from the upcoming Spring/Summer catalogue.  My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK.  I have chosen to use the stunning stamp set called Bloom by Bloom to make my card. I love all the bold floral images in this set and chose to stamp with some bright Spring like colours.

Making the card

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4⅞” by 3½”. I die cut a circle from the Layering Circles Framelit Dies, placed it on the Whisper White layer partially hanging off and lightly drew round it to help with the placement of the flowers.

Bloom By Bloom stamp set and Spring colours used for the December Stamp 'N hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bloom By Bloom stamp set used for the December Stamp ‘N hop blog hop

I stamped the leaves and flowers starting with the largest images and ending with the smallest one which were used to infill. I used Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana & Blueberry Bushel inks for the stamping. I added the stamped panel to a Flirty Flamingo panel 4” by 3⅝” having rounded the upper left corner of both panels. I erased the light pencil drawn circle.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bloom By Bloom stamp set used for the December Stamp ‘N hop blog hop

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Life stamp set in Granny Apple Green onto the die cut Whisper White circle. I used a couple of the small flowers to decorate the circle before adding it to a slightly larger Blueberry Bushel scalloped circle die cut using the same die set. I trimmed off the right side of the circle with my Trimmer and added it to the stamped layer on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Bloom By Bloom stamp set and Spring colours used for the December Stamp 'N hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bloom By Bloom stamp set used for the December Stamp ‘N hop blog hop

I took a Thick Whisper White card base and placed a large scrap of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and tilted it at an angle until it looked right, I turned the card over and trimmed off the excess. The Blueberry Bushel was then added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the stamped panel added on top with the same glue. To finish off the card I added a scattering of Basic Rhinestones.

Such a pretty card, I am really happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it.

Hello and welcome to November’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop. My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. If you have hopped on from Karen Watts I am sure you enjoyed her project. This month we are CASEing (either copy and share everything or copy and selectively edit) the Annual Catalogue and I had such a hard job choosing a project to make. In the end I went for a sweet card using the Apron of Love stamp set on page 61 of the catalogue but changed it up a little.

Apron of Love card

I started by stamping the apron image in Soft Sea Foam ink onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock and die cutting it using the Apron Builder dies. I also die cut the neck band, apron strings and pocket form the Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I adhered them together using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I then stamped some of the smaller images from the set randomly across the front of a Thick Whisper White card base in Highland Heather ink, Flirty Flamingo ink and Coastal Cabana ink. I die cut the hearts in Flirty Flamingo cardstock, the scissors in Highland Heather cardstock and the sweet little bows in Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Winter Woods for a Stamp 'N Hop

Winter Woods Stamp ‘N Hop

Stamp 'N Hop Oct title

www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘N Hop Oct title

Welcome to October’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop. My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. If you have hopped over from the lovely Pia Gerhardt I am sure you loved her project. The theme this month is a Christmas jump start – with this in mind I designed this month’s class projects around the gorgeous Winter Woods stamp set and co-ordinating In the Woods dies.

Row of Trees Card

I began with a panel of Whisper White 5⅛” by 3½”. I inked up the row of trees in Soft Suede ink and added a little of the gorgeous Frost White Shimmer Paint with a Sponge Dauber and stamped across the Whisper White panel twice.

Winter Woods for a Stamp 'N Hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Winter Woods for a Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop

Taking the snow bank edgelit from the In the Woods Framelit Dies, I die cut the bottom of the panel before adding the stamped panel to a layer of Soft Suede cardstock 5¼” by 3⅝” using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I then added the whole piece offset onto a Soft Sea Foam card base on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set was stamped on scrap Whisper White cardstock in Shaded Spruce ink. This was added to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. For an bit of extra bling I added a scattering of Iridescent Sequins.

Christmas Tree

I started with a panel of Soft Sea Foam 5⅞” by 3⅞” and stamped the row of trees in Soft Suede ink about half way up the panel. Using Soft Sea Foam ink and the tiny group of stars stamp from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set I stamped randomly above the trees.

Winter Woods for a Stamp 'N Hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Winter Woods for a Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop

I  ran a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3⅞” by 3” and a piece of Vellum 3⅞” by 2” through the Big Shot with the snow bank edgelit die and added them to the Soft Sea Foam piece with Stampin Dimensionals. I wrapped a piece of the gorgeous Braided Linen Trim around the bottom of the panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape. I added a bow on the top with a Mini Glue Dot.

Next I die cut the Christmas Tree and the inner part of the tree from a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock 6” by 2⅝” and flipped up the tree flaps and added some Champagne Shimmer Paint with a Sponge Dauber. The tree was added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive on the bottom and Dimensionals on the top. The whole panel was then added to a Soft Suede card base with a sprinkling of Iridescent Sequins. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Gift Bag

The sweet bag was made using the Gift Bag Punch Board and a panel of Soft Sea Foam 11” by 7” and following the ‘medium’ bag instructions I punched and scored the bag. I trimmed away the excess pieces and stamped the front panel and closing top flap with the Soft Sea Foam ink and the tiny star stamp from the Beautiful Bauble stamp set. I closed the bottom of the bag using Tear & Tape.

Winter Woods for a Stamp 'N Hop

I die cut a snow bank from a piece of Whisper White cardstock and added it to the front of the bag with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I stamped the tree onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3½” by 2” using Shaded Spruce Ink and a little Champagne Shimmer Paint added with a Sponge Dauber. I die cut the tree using the In the Woods Framelit dies and attached it to the box with Dimensionals.

I wrapped some ⅛” Whisper White Ribbon around the bag and tied in a bow and added a scatter of Iridescent Sequins.

I am really happy with these projects, I hope you like them. Please hop on to see what Jo Blackman has to share with us, then take the opportunity to hop around to see the rest of the wonderful inspiration provided by the other lovely demos.

Birthday card with balloons made using Stampin' Up products

Hand Delivered Balloons for a Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop

Stamp 'N Hop blog hop by Mo Rootes

Hello and welcome back to another Stamp ‘N Hop. I am joining you from a village 10 miles outside the beautiful city of Cambridge in the UK. In this hop we are teasing you with some of our favourite pre-order items from the new Annual Catalogue which will be available from the 1st June 2018.  If you have hopped over from Tracie Marie Lewis I am sure your loved her project, as did I.

For this month’s blog hop I have chosen the  Hand Delivered Stamp Set. This sweet stamp set is a hostess only purchase and has so many quirky images which can be used for many different occasions and I especially like the ‘to the graduate’  and the ‘hope you feel better soon’ sentiments.

Making the card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock 3⅞” by 2⅞” which I adhered to the bottom left hand corner of a Whisper White card base using a little Snail Adhesive. I stamped the skirt and legs of the girl onto the panel  using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and added the top of the girl holding the balloons, deliberately stamping off the edge onto the card base. I then lifted the stamped panel off the card base which I set aside.

Taking the following Stampin’ Blends Pens I coloured in the girl and the balloons – light & dark Rich Razzelberry, light & dark Pink Pirouette, light & dark Pool Party, light Bermuda Bay and the Colour Lifter.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Hand Delivered stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

Using the Detailed Trio Punch I rounded the upper left corner of the stamped and coloured panel and added it to a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock 4” by 3” with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I used the same punch to round the corner. I added this piece to the card base on Stampin’ Dimensionals taking care to match up the balloons.

I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzelberry ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and trimmed it out using scissors. I added it to the card front with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

I absolutely love the simplicity of this set and I really wish there was a male version.

I am so enjoying being part of this amazingly talented group of demonstrators from around the world. To carry on hopping click on the button below or click on the link to the lovely Linda Handford and see what she has chosen to share with us this month.

Lovely As A Tree Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! used for a masculine birthday card

Lovely As A Tree – Stamp ‘N Hop

Stamp 'N Hop blog hop by Mo Rootes

Welcome to the April Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop and if you have hopped on from the lovely Danielle Kassing I am sure you have loved her crafty share as much as I have. The theme of this month’s blog hop is our favourite item from the current Annual catalogue.  So much choice, where to start…………… and that is exactly where I have started.

The first Stampin’ Up! item I ever bought was the gorgeous Lovely As a Tree Stamp set which has been a staple in the catalogue for many, many years. Before the launch of every catalogue I wonder if this is the year the stamp set will be retired from the catalogue, so far this hasn’t happened…..maybe this will be the year……

It is a fantastically versatile stamp set and I have used it for birthday cards, thank you cards, congratulations cards and Christmas cards. The trees and leaves in the set are beautifully drawn and a real pleasure to work with. For this blog hop I chose to re-work one of the first cards I made using this set, at the time I had no other Stampin’ Up! products so used cardstock and dsp from my stash.

Method used

Lovely As A Tree Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! used for a masculine birthday card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Lovely As A Tree for the Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop

I started by colouring the gorgeous ‘oak tree’ image using the Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Always Artichoke Marker Pens. This is a great way to add multiple colours to a stamp giving texture and depth to an image. I huffed on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamped onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock 4½” by 2¾”. Taking an Aquapainter I softened and added colour to the image. I used a Soft Sky ink pad and a Sponge Dauber to add colour to the ‘sky’ and to the upper edges of the panel. I tore the bottom of the panel and inked the edge with a Sponge Dauber and Crumb Cake ink before adding the sentiment from the Yay You stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink.  I am generally not a great fan of torn or inked edges but feel that it works really well on this card.

Lovely As A Tree Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! used for a masculine birthday card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Lovely As A Tree for the Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop

I added a length of ¼” Copper Trim and tied it into a bow. This stamped panel was added to a layer of Chocolate Chip cardstock 5” by 2⅞”. I took an 11¾” by 4⅛” piece of Garden Green cardstock and scored it in the middle at 5⅞” to make a tent fold card.

Lovely As A Tree Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! used for a masculine birthday card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Lovely As A Tree for the Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop

I added a panel of Wood Textures dsp which started out at 5½” by 3⅜” before I tore the bottom. It was added to the card front using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The stamped panel was added on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To the inside I glued a panel of Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” having stamped the ‘oak leaf’ image in Garden Green ink at the bottom. The same image was stamped on a Whisper White Envelope

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, please hop on to see the gorgeous project Kim Smith has for you.

Lovely floral card featuring Sale-a-Bration product by Stampin' Up!

Eclectic Expression Flowers – Stamp ‘N Hop

Stamp 'N Hop blog hop by Mo Rootes

Welcome, this month for the Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop (try saying that fast when you are tired) we are focusing on the gorgeous items in the 2nd Sale-a-Bration release. Don’t you just love the chance to earn more amazing free goodies, I know I do.

I have chosen to use the Eclectic Expression stamp set for today’s blog hop. I have to admit this stamp set was not the first item I saw when I opened the brochure. It isn’t as flashy and obvious as the other options but I have come to love these more abstract sets. With a set like this I usually stamp everything out just to see what the images look like and how they relate to each other and here is what I came up with.

Method in my madness

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5⅞” by 2¼” and stamped the small spotted circle randomly leaving large gaps between each circle. I initially stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink but ended up changing this to Tranquil Tide. Taking the smaller of the ‘splotchy’ images I stamped around 2 of the spotty circles to form flower petals, slightly overlapping looks better. I repeat this using Daffodil Delight ink then Peakaboo Peach ink rotating the stamp to give the flowers a different look. Having decided I didn’t like the Pear Pizzazz I stamped the spotty circle again in Tranquil Tide ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched them out using the ½” Circle Punch. I added these to the centre of each flower using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

Lovely floral card featuring Sale-a-Bration product by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – Eclectic Expression by Stampin’ Up!

I mounted the stamped panel onto a layer of Calypso Coral cardstock 5⅞” by 2 ½” using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I planned to add this panel to a Thick Whisper White card base but felt there was something missing. After a bit of faffing I took a strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock 5⅞” by ½”, punched it out using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and added it to the right side using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I added the whole panel to the Thick Whisper White card base using Tombow.

I stamped the sentiment from the Badges & Banners Stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Duet Banner Punch. I used the same punch to punch a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock which I added to the back to give a shadow effect. I added this to the card front using Tombow on the right and a Stampin’ Dimensional on the left. A scattering of Iridescent Sequins finished added a little sparkle to the card.
