Hanging Garden for the Inspire Create #041 Challenge

Today I am sharing a card made using the Hanging Garden stamp set for the Inspire Create #041 Challenge. The challenge this week is a sketch challenge, love these, they are great for pushing you out of your comfort zone.

To recreate the Hang in There card you will need;

Granny Apple Green card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Whisper White cardstock 5½” by 3 ¾”
Tropical Escape dsp 3⅝” by 2½”
Tropical Escape dsp 3⅝” by 2⅞”
Shaded Spruce 5⅞” by 2⅛”
Whisper White 5⅞” by 2”
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Scrap Whisper White for the sentiment

I began by using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to glue the 2 pieces of designer series paper (dsp) to the larger Whisper White panel with one piece slightly overlapping the other. I wrapped a piece of Granny Apple Green Ribbon around the panel covering the join and attached the ribbon on the back with Sellotape. This whole piece was then attached to the Granny Apple green card base using the same adhesive.

I stamped the hanging baskets from the Hanging Garden stamp set each one below the next in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the following Blends markers to colour in the images – Flirty Flamingo combo, Granny Apple Green combo, Petal Pink combo, Crumb Cake combo and Highland Heather light. I deliberately chose these colours to mimic the colour palette of the dsp.

The stamped and coloured layer was then added to the card front on Dimensionals. The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and trimmed down with my scissors. It was added to the panel with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

A sweet card made using new product from the up-coming 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalogue

Sneak Peek Daisy Lane

Today I am sharing a sneak peek card made using some of the new products I received at OnStage last weekend. I love getting new product to play with and made this card for a team sketch challenge.

Making the Daisy lane card

You will need;
Mint Macaron card base
Whisper White 5⅝” by 3⅞” x 2 – rounded upper left corner – 1 for the inside
Flirty Flamingo 4 ¼” by 2” – rounded lower right corner
Whisper White 4⅛” by 1⅞” – rounded lower right corner
Scrap strips of Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo & Smoky Slate
Scrap Whisper for stamping a daisy and sentiment

I began by stamping the stem and leaves in Mint Macaron ink onto the smaller panel of Whisper White cardstock. I added the daisy head in Flirty Flamingo ink. I didn’t like the way I had stamped the daisy head and ended up stamping it again onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and fussy cutting it out. It was added to the stamped layer on dimensionals. The panel was then added to the Flirty Flamingo cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Next I inked up the Birch background stamp using Smoky Slate ink, I find it easier to lay these large background stamps face up on the grid paper before inking them up and laying the cardstock on top. I used one of the larger panels of Whisper White cardstock for this. I really like the birch markings of this stamp; it adds a great bit of texture to the card. I added the birch stamped panel to the front of the Mint Macaron card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I added a strip of Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate and Flirty Flamingo cardstock behind the daisy stamped layer using Snail adhesive and added the panel to the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Well Said stamp set was stamped in Mint Macaron ink onto scrap Whisper White which I trimmed down using my scissors. I backed it with a small piece of Mint Macaron cardstock cut to size and the sentiment was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

A simple stylish card for the CAS(E) This Sketch #306 challenge

CAS(E) This Sketch – Well Written

I love a good sketch challenge and today I am sharing a card made for the CAS(E) This Sketch #306 challenge.

Making the Card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝”. I placed the panel half in the Lace Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot. This folder gives such a gorgeous amount of dimension to the panel. Where the embossing finishes I added a piece of Real Red Cotton Ribbon using Sellotape to stick the ribbon to the back of the panel. I added the panel to a strip of Basic Black cardstock 5⅝” by 1½” to the left hand side of the embossed panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was added to a Real Red card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Taking some scrap Basic Black cardstock I ran it through the Big Shot with the ‘thanks’ from the Well Written framelit dies. I added a little Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to each layer and stacked them up to give the sentiment some dimension. I adhered the sentiment to the card front with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive………I love this stuff.

I stamped some of the small butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock. I coloured in the butterflies using the Real Red Blends combo and added some Clear Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle.

Bloom by Bloom stamp set used to make a card for the Inspire. Create #035 Challenge

Bloom by Bloom for the Inspire, Create Challenge #035

Another sketch challenge to play along with today, this time it is the turn of the Inspire. Create #035 challenge. I loved this sketch and knew right away that I wanted to use the stunning Bloom by Bloom stamp set.

Making the card

I began by die cutting the largest Stitched Circle using my Big Shot and the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I randomly stamped a variety of images from the Bloom by Bloom stamp set in Flirty Flaming, So Saffron, Mint Macaron and Blueberry Bushel inks. I began with the largest flower, then the leaves and finishing with the smallest flower.

I die cut a scalloped circle from Blueberry Bushel cardstock and added it to the stamped circle with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added it to a Thick Whisper White card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a strip of Flirty Flamingo cardstock ⅜” wide and trimmed it down. I added it to the stamped circle with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I stamped the sentiment from the Apron of Love stamp set in Blueberry Bushel ink then stamped it again…….just because I could and added it onto the Flirty Flamingo strip.

I really felt the card needed a little something extra so stamped the smallest flower in Blueberry Bushel ink onto the card front itself and added some of the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls in Mint Macaron to complete the card.

I am really happy with this card. I hope you like it.

Balloon Celebration stamp set used for the Global Design Project #166 sketch challenge

Balloon Celebration for the GDP #166 Challenge

Today I am sharing a card made using the Global Design Project #166 sketch challenge. I love a sketch challenge, it really makes you think about using what you have on your shelf in a different way.

Making the card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock 4” by 2 ¾” and adhered it, offset,  to a panel of Highland Heather cut to the same size. These glued panels were then taken to the Big Shot and had a part circle cut out using the Layering Circle dies.

I took a Thick Whisper White card base and adhered a piece of Subtles dsp measuring 5⅝” by 3⅞”. I stamped the balloon string in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and added the die cut panel on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a balloon to the negative die cut space using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The balloon was punched using the Balloon Bouquet Punch from Highland Heather cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the One Wild Ride stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock 2¾” by ⅜” and added it to a strip of Highland Heather cardstock measuring 2¾” by ½”. I then punched a Coastal Cabana strip using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and added it to the sentiment. I love those little scallops peeking out, so pretty.

I covered the balloon with Clear Wink of Stella, added a Whisper White Baker’s Twine bow and some Glitter Enamel Dots to finish the card.

I hope you like it.
