The Sea Turtles stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a trio of cards for my August 2024 classes

Sea Turtle Classes

Today I am sharing the cards I designed for my August classes using the Sea Turtles stamp set. This is a reversible stamp set where you can used both the front and the back of each stamp.

Colours used in these projects are:

Baby Turtles card

Pool Party card – 8¾” by 4⅛”– scored at 5⅞”
Calypso Coral – 5⅞” by 1” – Embossed using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders
Summer Splash – 5⅞” by ⅛”
Pecan Pie – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White – 5” by 3¼”
Pool Party – 3¼” by ⅜”
Calypso Coral – 3¼” by ¼”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾”

I took 2 damp baby wipes, folded them in half, one on top of the other and placed them  inside an empty stamp case. You can use anything firm and waterproof such as a plate or the glass mat. Onto the folded up baby wipes I added about 10 – 12 drops of Calypso Coral re-inker, 10 – 12 drops of Coastal Cabana re-inker and 8 – 10 drops of Pecan Pie re-inker. The dots gradually sread, filling the space between them.

We pressed the baby turtle image onto the inked baby wipes and stamped it randomly all over the 5” by 3¼” piece of Basic White card.

The back of the ‘bubble’ image was inked with Pool Party, stamped off twice then stamped over the stamped baby turtles to give the illusion of water. This was repeated all over the panel. The inked panel was then glued to the Pecan Pie panel.

We glued the embossed Calypso Coral strip to the front of the Pool Party card front. The thin strip of Summer Splash was glued next to it and the stamped panel added overtop on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Attention Shoppers stamp set was stamped in Pecan Pie ink onto the strip of Pool Party card. The strip of Calypso Coral card was adhered to the back with a little peeking out the bottom. The sentiment piece was glued to the card front. A white Baker’s Twine bow finished the card.

A Brayer and cling film used with the Sea Turtle stamp set by Stampin' Up! to make a card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Sea Turtle card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing cards made using a Brayer. I have chosen to use the Sea Turtle stamp set and some cling film or seran wrap!

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the sea turtle card. You will need:

Parakeet Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Pretty Peacock card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

I crumpled up a scrap piece of cling film and wrapped it around the roller of the Brayer keeping as many of the wrinkles in place as possible. I inked up the cling film by running the Brayer over the open Lost Lagoon ink pad a number of times to pick up the ink.

I rolled the brayer, multiple times, over the 5” by 3¼” piece of Basic White card, changing direction as I went. To clean off the residual ink, I rolled the cling film wrapped brayer over scrap paper. I inked up again with Pretty Peacock and rolled the ink multiple times across the Basic White card stock. I repeated the whole process again with Parakeet Party ink, building up the colour as I went.
