Taking the Gorgeous Grape panel and my Paper Trimmer I cut on the short side from 1¾” to 8¾” on both sides. The cuts should be parallel and matched up.

Next I scored on the long side at 1¾” from both ends but only between the two cut lines and then from 3½” and 7” from top to bottom.

I took my time to choosing patterns from the gorgeous Pansy Petals dsp. My friend loves purple so these were the colours I went for first. I added in the Soft Succulent gingham to break up the purple. The dsp was adhered to the Basic White panels which were then glued to the Gorgeous Grape card.

I carefully folded and burnished the score lines of the card to form the tri-fold shutter shape.

Using my Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Brilliant Butterfly Dies I die cut some of the butterflies from the scrap Gorgeous Grape card, Highland Heather card and Be Dazzling dsp. I also used some of the iridescent paper left over from the Wonderful Snowflakes to die cut a couple of butterflies.

The butterflies were added to the card front with a dab of Multicoloured Liquid Adhesive.

Using the Playful Alphabet dies I cut the number 50 from the Be Dazzling dsp and added them to the card front.

The word ‘today’ was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto a scrap of Basic White card. It came from the Timeless Tulips Stamp set. I masked off the words I didn’t need before I inked up the stamp. The word was trimmed out using scissors.

I decorated the butterflies and the card with some of the Subtle Shimmer Sequins to complete the card.

I added a panel of white to the back to write my message on.

Little Elephant stamp set and Elephant Builder Punch makes a cute card

Purple Elephant

Today I am sharing a sweet card I made for a friend, it features a little purple elephant because she loves elephants and the colour purple………..it had to be done.

Making a purple elephant card

I began by stamping the larger of the 2 elephants onto a scrap of Whisper White using Gorgeous Grape ink and punched it out using the co-ordinating Elephant Builder Punch. I die cut a circle from Whisper White cardstock using the Layering Circle Dies and my Big Shot and stamped the sentiment using the Gorgeous Grape ink. The tiny bird was added in Pool Party. I then die cut a slightly larger scalloped circle from Gorgeous Grape cardstock and adhered it to the stamped panel.

I inked up the plaid strip in Gorgeous Grape and stamped it about an inch from the bottom of a 5¼” by 3½” panel of Whisper White. I added a strip, 3½” by 1½” of Pool Party designer series paper (dsp) taken from the Subtles 6” by 6” paper stack. I punched the upper left corner with the Detailed Trio Punch and added a layer of Pool Party cardstock with the same punched corner. The panel was then added to a Thick Whisper White card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I added the layered circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed the cute little purple elephant onto the circle again using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To complete the project I added a few Iridescent Sequins. Gorgeous, I hope you like it.
