The Cake Fancy stamp set from Stampin' Up! used to make a beautiful rainbow layered cake for the Pride Blog Hop

Rainbow Layered Cake – Pride Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Pride themed Blog Hop where we are showing our solidarity for the LGBTQ+ community. I have chosen to make a rainbow layered cake as the rainbow is the emblem chosen to represent this community. My card is made using the Cake Fancy stamp set.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the rainbow layered cake card, you will need:

Granny Apple Green card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Scrap Basic White card

I began by stamping the cake plate onto the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card in Gorgeous Grape ink.

The cake layers were added starting with Blueberry Bushel ink, then Granny Apple Green ink, next I used Daffodil Delight ink,

The next layer was added with Peach Pie ink, then Poppy Parade and finally Melon Mambo ink……. not strictly part of the rainbow but I couldn’t resist it.

I grounded the cake stand by stamping the ‘ground’ image from the Trucking Along stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

On scrap Basic White card, I stamped a selection of flowers in Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade and Highland Heather and added the flower centres in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green ink. These were then added on and around the cake.

I adhered them, in rainbow order down the length of one of the Basic White panels from the upper left to the lower right. I used a Mini Glue Dot in the centre of each leaf as I wanted the leaves to have some movement and dimension.
