Pelican on a Post Thank You Card

I have made a lovely pelican on a post thank you card using the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and the Nested Essentials dies.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the pelican on a post card, you will need:

Night of Navy card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Stargazing dsp – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 2½”
Scrap Basic White card

The panel of Stargazing designer series paper (dsp) was glued to one of the Basic White panels. A length of Tahitian Tide Metallic Ribbon was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape.

Using Pebbled Path ink, I stamped the pelican on a post onto the 4¼” by 2½” panel of Basic White card and die cut it out using the Nested Essentials dies. I coloured the pelicans bill in with a Pumpkin Pie Blends Pen. The die cut piece was mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

Using a blending Brush, I added Soft Suede and Early Espresso ink to a scrap of Basic White card. I used the Horizon Dies to cut out a strip of ‘ground’. I ran the strip through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I added it over the base of the posts on Dimensionals.
