Thank you for joining me today for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘3D’. If you have hopped over from the lovely Jill Chapman, you are very welcome. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes in the UK. Please continue to hop through to see all the inspiration the other participants have to share.
I have chosen to share the wreath I have made for my lovely Mum who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and is in a care home. As we are currently in lockdown in an effort to stop the rise of Covid-19, we are unable to visit her. I made her this pretty Poinsettia Wreath for the lovely staff who care for her to hang on her door.
To recreate the 3D Poinsettia Wreath, you will need:
Real Red card stock
Flirty Flamingo card stock
Garden Green stock
Soft Sea Foam card stock
Whisper White card stock
Silver Foil card
Taking the stunning Metallic Mesh Ribbon, I started wrapping it loosely around a pretty wicker wreath bought from a local craft store. I love this ribbon; it is so light and fragile looking but adds such a pop of style.
Using the gorgeous Poinsettia Dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine I cut out the layers for 2 Real Red flowers and the layers for a Flirty Flamingo flower.
I used a sponge dauber and Cherry Cobbler ink I added colour to the edges of each flower petal to give the flower more dimension.
I used Real Red ink and a dauber to add depth to the Flirty Flamingo flower.
The petals were shaped using my Bone Folder to add yet more dimension. The petals of the largest and smallest layers were shaped downwards. The petals of the two middle layers were shaped upwards.
The layers were layer up using a Dimensional between the bottom (first) and second layer. Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive between the second and third layer and a Mini Dimensional between the third and fourth layers. Each layer was added off centre to the layer before.
Using the Beautiful Boughs Dies I die cut a selection of branches in Garden Green, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White card.
I began adding branches and leaves behind each of the three flowers, building up the layers and adhering the leaves to the back of the flower with the liquid glue.
When all three flowers were backed with leaves, I glued them to the wreath using my hot glue gun. I added a bow made using the Metallic Mesh Ribbon using the hot glue.
I used some of the really pretty Beaded Pearls to the centre of each flower using Mini Glue Dots.
As a finishing touch I sprayed the flowers with some Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed with 70% alcohol to give some extra shimmer.
So pretty I really hope Mum likes it.
Please hop on to see what the talented Susan Simpson has to share with us today.
