Pink ombre themed team congratulations cards made using the gorgeous Caring Leaves stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Pink Leaves cards

Today I am sharing cards made for team members who have achieved a level in sales. I made the cards using the Caring Leaves stamp set.

Colours used to make these cards are:

To recreate the cards, you will need:

Bubble Bath card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Berry Burst card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Melon Mambo card – 2” by 1 ¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White card

I began by stamping the solid leaf at the top of the 5” by 3¼” panel of Basic White card. I stamped the leaf about a ⅓ of the way down. I switched to Melon Mambo ink for the next ⅓.

The final ⅓ was stamped in berry Burst ink. This gives a lovely ombre effect. The outline leaf was stamped over each leaf in Pebbled Path ink.

The stamped panel was then glued to the Berry Burst panel and a length of retired Bubble Bath Ribbon wrapped around the panel. The whole piece was then glued to the Bubble Bath card base.

The sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst ink onto scrap Basic White card which was then die cut using a Perennial Postage Die. I tucked the piece of Melon Mambo card under the ribbon and glued it in place. The die cut sentiment was then added over top on Dimensionals.

A Ribbon bow and a trio of Adhesive-backed Discs finished the card. So pretty.

The Grassy Grove stamp set and some ombre ink blending for a pretty ombre card for the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

Ombre Grassy Grove for Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Dreams Ombre Blog Hop where I have used the gorgeous Grassy Grove stamp set to show off an ombre starry sky.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the ombre grassy grove card, you will need:

Tahitian Tide card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – rounded upper left corner
Starry Sky card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner

Using Blending Brushes, I added ink to the smaller Basic White panel. I started with Balmy Blue, moved onto Tahitian Tide, then Starry Sky and finally Night of Navy. Gorgeous.

The inked panel was then placed in the Stamparatus and I stamped the ground, trees and deer in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the Stamparatus so that I could stamp each image multiple times to get the images really, really black.

I added some highlights to the deer with a Chalk Marker.

A pretty ombre hearts card made for the Stamper's Showcase Blog Hop

All You Need Is Love – Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the January Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop where I theme this month is ‘All You Need is Love’. I have chosen the gorgeous Detailed Hearts die to make my card.

To recreate the All You Need is Love card you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner
Blueberry Bushel – 5¾” by 4” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner
Whisper White – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner
Blueberry Bushel 4” by ⅞”
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner – for the inside

I began by using sponges to ink the largest panel of Whisper White card stock. I started at the top and worked down the panel using Balmy Blue ink, Pool Party ink, Seaside Spray ink, Pacific Point ink, Blueberry Bushel ink and Night of Navy ink to create an ombre look.

I die cut the large panel of hearts from the ombre sheet and carefully pocked out all the hearts, putting them to one side to use in another project.

Gorgeous simple card using masking and an ombre ink effect with a tree

Rooted In Nature – Another Sneak Peek

Today I have had my first play with the new Rooted in Nature Stamp set which will be available in my online shop from the 1st June and I love it. I used it to make a simple thank you card for a friend.

Gorgeous simple card using masking and an ombre ink effect with a tree

www.crafty-rootes.com – Rooted-in-Nature-by-Stampin’-Up!

I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” and using Post It tape I masked off a rectangular area to the right of centre. I inked up a wedge of Stampin’ Sponge with Rich Razzelberry ink and applied it to the unmasked rectangle, starting at the bottom and letting the ink fade towards the top. I then peeled off the Post It tape to reveal the inked panel. I love the effect this gives.

I inked up the gorgeous tall pine type tree with Early Espresso ink and stamped it partially over the inked rectangle. I love the stark look of this tree, the images are almost photographic. I added this stamped layer to a Thick Whisper White card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4⅛” by ⅜” using the Early Espresso Ink pad. I added this stamped strip to a strip of Rich Razzelberry cardstock 4⅛” by ½“using Tombow liquid Adhesive and added it to the card front using Tombow.

This is such a simple card but so striking. I absolutely love this tree. Hope you like the card.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day stamp set

Beautiful Day for a Butterfly

Today I’ve been playing with 2 new products – the Beautiful Day Stamp Set from the Spring/Summer 2018 catalogue and the gorgeous Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes which are a free Sale-a-Bration choice with a £45 order.

Butterfly from Beautiful Day stamp set for a Get Well card

www.crafty-rootes.com-Beautiful Day Stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

I started by stamping the stunning butterfly image in Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Whisper White cardstock panel 4⅞” by 3⅝”. I wanted to create an ombre effect when colouring the butterfly and chose to use Stampin’ Blends to achieve this effect.

Ombre colouring for a Beautiful Day Butterfly

www.crafty-rootes.com-Beautiful Day Stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

I started with the Dark Cherry Cobbler and used small feather strokes in each section of the butterfly wings in turn. Next I used the Light Cherry Cobbler Blends Pen and deliberately did not blend the 2 shades together. I repeated the feathering using the Dark Calypso Coral then the Light Calypso Coral Blends Pen. The centre sections I coloured using the Dark and Light Daffodil Blends Pen the same fashion

I mounted 2 strips of Daffodil Delight cardstock, 4 ¾” by 1⅛” behind the stamped Whisper White piece offset to the top left with the one piece and to the bottom right with the second piece. I really like this offset partial mount, it is really quirky but very effective. The panels were added with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was then added to the front of a Tutti-Frutti card base on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Apron of Love stamp set in Calypso Coral ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and added a banner end using Paper Snips. I added a tiny scalloped Daffodil Delight cardstock border to the bottom in the sentiment having punched it out using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. The sentiment was added to the card front using Tombow. To finish I added some of the Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins and covered the central Daffodil Delight sections in Clear Wink of Stella. Gorgeous!
