Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are showcasing projects made using the whitewash technique. This is a technique I haven’t used in a long while and had so much fun playing with it again. I have used the gorgeous Magnolia Mood stamp set to make my card.
To recreate the whitewashed magnolia card, you will need:
Berry Burst card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – with rounded upper right corner Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” – with rounded upper right corner Crumb Cake card – 5” by 3¼” – with rounded upper right corner Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside – with rounded upper right corner
I stamped the large magnolia image onto the Crumb Cake card panel using Versamark ink. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and set it using my Heat Tool.

I pressed the Whisper White ink pad to a small Acrylic Block. A damp Water Painter was used to paint the Whisper White ink onto each of the petals of the magnolia.

After letting the white ink dry, I added Berry Burst ink to the petals using an almost empty Wink of Stella Pen, this gave a subtle shimmer to the petals.

The decorated panel was then glued to the 5⅛” by 3⅜” panel of Basic White card. A length of White Diagonal Striped Ribbon was wrapped around the whole piece and secured on the back with Sellotape before the whole piece was stuck to the Berry Burst card base.
