The Love For You stamp set from Stampin' Up! used to make a boldly dramatic floral birthday card for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Love For You card – Crafty-Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we have a colour challenge to work with. I have used the Love For You stamp set which will be retiring at the end of April.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Love For You card,  you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Garden Green card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – Rounded upper left corner
Flirty Flaming card – 2¾” by 2¾”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper left corner – for the inside

I began by die cutting a circle from the square of Flirty Flamingo card using the Stylish Shapes Dies. I placed the die cut circle onto the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card, slightly overhanging the right edge. I drew around it with a pencil.

The flowers and leaves from the Love For You stamp set were then stamped, overlapping the pencil circle. The detail of the largest flower was stamped with Berry Burst ink and the solid image adde in Calypso Coral ink.

I glued the decorated panel to the Garden Green layer and wrapped a length of Garden Green Ribbon around the layer before adhering the whole piece to the Flirty Flamingo card front.

A sweet anniversary card made for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop using the ink refill and shaving foam technique and the Hot Air Balloons Dies by Stampin' Up!

Hot Air Balloons card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using ink refills. I had such fun with this and ended up using ink refills with having foam to make my hot air balloon anniversary card.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the hot air balloon card, you will need:

Azure Afternoon card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – which I cut down to 5 ¼” by 3 ½” after colouring
Basic White card – 2” by ¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Starry Sky, Azure Afternoon & Lemon Lime Twist card

Ink Refill and shaving cream technique:

Paper Plate
Shaving foam
Ink Refills
Palette Knives
Kitchen towel

I covered the centre of a paper plate with shaving foam – it has to be foam not gel – spreading it out into a fairly even coating. I dropped dots of re inker randomly over the shaving cream – Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist and Starry Sky. Using a palette knife I swirled the colours together.

The 5½” by 3¾” panel of Basic White was then placed on top and gentle pressure applied. I carefully lifted the panel off the foam and scraped the excess off with the palette knife. The panel was left to dry.

Ink refill and shaving foam technique

I made multiple panels and used some of the left overs with stencils to see if that would work as well. – Very messy but such fun.

When the first panel was dry, I trimmed it down to 5¼” by 3½”and glued it to the Basic Black panel and then added the panel to the Azure Afternoon card base.

Nest I die cut the hot air balloons, initially in black as I was thinking of a silhouette effect but after messing about for a while I decided the black was too harsh and die cut them in Starry Sky.

From scrap Azure Afternoon and Lemon Lime Twist card I die cut the coloured panels for the balloons and added them on with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive – if I had been thinking straight I would have added Adhesive Sheet to the back of the scrap card.

A pretty floral anniversary card amde using the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and Dies and the Twisted Rope Embossing Folder by Stampin' Up!

Daisy Anniversary card

I shared a card on the 20th May 2023, made using the lovely Cheerful Daisies bundle and I loved it so much that I am recreating it again today as an anniversary card using different colour and a different embossing folder.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the daisy card, you will need:

Bubble Bath card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pebbled Path card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Bubble Bath card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White, Bubble Bath and Pebbled Path card

I ran the panel of Bubble Bath card through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder and using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, glued it to the Pebbled Path panel.

I die cut the trio of daisies from scrap Basic White card and cut the flowers apart using sharp scissors. I die cut the base layer of the daisy from Pebbled Path card and the detailed flower from scrap Basic White card. I also stamped the flower centre in Moody Mauve ink onto scrap Bubble Bath card and die cut it out.

A Blending Brush was used to add Moody Mauve ink to the centre of both white flower layers and to the flower centre. A Dimensional behind the flower centre held the two delicate flower layers together and a little liquid glue added them to the Pebbled Path layer. The whole piece was added to the card front. The leaves were tucked in behind the flower.

The detailed daisies were then die cut from scrap basic white card. We used a Sponge Dauber to add Moody Mauve ink to the centre of the die cut before adhering them to the daisies. We stamped the large daisy centre in Moody Mauve ink and added Bubble Bath ink with a Dauber before adding it to the daisy piece on a Dimensional.
