Graceful Glass dsp by Stampin' Up! used for a sympathy card

Graceful Glass Sympathy card

Today I have made a sweet sympathy card using the Graceful Glass Vellum Designer Series Paper. This dsp is absolutely gorgeous and needs very little doing to it to make a stunning card.

Making the Graceful Glass card

I started by choosing the panel of dsp I wanted, I loved this square, scrolly one. I trimmed the panel down, turned it over to the reverse side and coloured it in using the Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig Stampin Write Markers.  It looks so pretty…..

I cut a panel of Whisper White cardstock exactly the same size as the vellum dsp panel, 3” by 3”. I squeezed some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive onto my Silicon Mat and using a wedge of sponge I applied the glue, thinly all over the Whisper White panel and added the coloured vellum panel.

I cut a border strip from another of the dsp sheets. I added the coloured vellum panel to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals and tucked the border piece in behind using a little Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive where it would be hidden.

The sentiment from the Painted Glass stamp set was stamped in below the coloured panel in Tranquil Tide ink. I love the font in this stamp set.

This is such a striking card. I hope you like it.

Thinking of you card made using the Lakeside Framelit dies

Lilypad Lake

Today I have been using the Lilypad Lake stamp set and co-ordinating Lakeside framelit dies to make a simple ‘thinking of you’ card.

I really wanted to combine this stamp set with the Graceful  Glass Vellum dsp. I especially liked the piece with wavy lines which has a real watery feel. I cut a piece 5⅞” by 2” and used the following Blends Alcohol Pens to colour in the image – Dark Pool Party, Light Bermuda Bay, Light & Dark Night of Navy. This was the first time I had used Blends to colour in the vellum and I was surprised how streaky the finished image was. It did work with this watery image though.

After colouring in the vellum I added it to a piece of Whisper White cardstock exactly the same size. To do this I squeezed a little Multipurpose liquid Adhesive onto a Silicon Mat, picked up the glue with a small piece of sponge and swiped it lightly across the Whisper White panel before adhering the vellum panel to it. I added the whole piece to a Thick Whisper White card base.

Taking some scraps of Basic Black cardstock I die cut a heron and some of the clumps of leaves and tucked these in behind the raised panel adhering them with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I inked up part of the sentiment using a Night of Navy cardstock and stamped it down on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock which I then cut to size and flagged one end. It was added to the card front using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Despite the streaky look I actually quite liked this card, let me know what you think.
