Rustic Crate Fall Fun Fold card – Fall Fun Folds Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Fall Fun Folds Blog Hop. I recently watch a Youtube video posted by Australian demonstrator, Alisa Tilsner showcasing a pop out window card http://(https://www.youtube.com/live/_uQZ9AN1wTM)which she had designed. I absolutely loved the card and decided to rework it for a standard sized card using A4 cardstock.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the Fall goodies card, you will need:

Pretty Peacock card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅝” by 4”
Perennial Lavender dsp – 5½” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 7⅝” by 5½” – scored at 3¾”
Unbounded Beauty dsp – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5” by 1“scored at ½”,1” and 1½” at each end

The panel of Perennial Lavender dsp was adhered to the 5⅝” by 4” piece of Basic White card which was then adhered to the Pretty Peacock card front.

I selected 2 Deckled Circle Dies and using the larger die I die cut a circle through all 3 layers. I needed to run it backwards and forwards 2 to cut through all the layers.

I glued the piece of Unbounded Beauty dsp to the front of the inner Basic White card and adhered the back of the card to the inside of the Pretty Peacock card base taking care to stay away from the central fold.

The small circle was then used to die cut a circle from the square of Basic White card.

Using Early Espresso ink, I stamped the Autumnal arrangement and the sentiment onto the die cut white circle. I used Washi tape from my stash to mask the words for the sentiment as I wanted then stacked rather than inline.

The image was coloured using the following Blends Pens – light and dark Pumpkin Pie and light and dark Pretty Peacock for the Pumpkins, light and dark Wild Wheat and light and dark Old Olive for the ears of corn and light and dark Daffodil Delight, light Copper Clay and light and dark Mossy Meadow for the sunflowers.

I folded and burnished the scorelines on the 5” by 1“– the 2 centre scorelines were folded back, the next 2 folded forwards and the last 2 folded back.

The card front was closed, and a little Liquid Adhesive added to the innermost tabs of the folded strip which was then placed in the centre of the die cut hole. I held it in place for a minute or so to make sure it would not move. Adhesive was then added to the raised centre of the strip and the decorated circle added, making sure to leave an equal border all the way around.

I finished the card by adding the trio of Adhesive-backed Dappled Dots. Not sure I have got this card quite right, but I do like it.

Engagement card – Celebrate Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Celebrate Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop where we are showcasing, you’ve guessed it…….. Sale-a-Bration product. I am showcasing the gorgeous Softly Stippled dsp and have used it to make a pretty card made for my niece who became engaged over Christmas.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the engagement card, you will need:

Pool Party card – 5⅜” by 4⅛”
Softly Stippled dsp – 12” by 5¼”
Basic White card 5⅛” by 3⅞”
Softly Stippled dsp – 5” by 3⅝”
Scrap Basic White & Pool Party card

On the long side I scored the Softly Stippled dsp at 2”, 4” 8” and 10”. On the short side I marked at 2” down on both sides and using a trimmer, cut from the 2” mark to the second score line – 4” and 8”.

Taking the 2 off cut pieces, I trimmed the point off at the 2” score line and glued the pieces to the front panels with the co-ordinating pattern uppermost. I love that you see both sides of this pretty dsp.

The sentiment, from the Stippled Rose stamp set, was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto scrap Basic White card. I die cut the sentiment using the Nested Essentials Dies. I cut 2 more labels from scrap Pool Party card, I cut one of these in half across the middle and glued the 2 halfs to the back of the stamped label with a little peeking out at the top and the bottom. The remaining Pool Party label was glued to the back of the label and the whole piece was glued to the left side of the card front.

From scrap Basic White card, I die cut 2 circles using the Everyday Details Dies. On the circle I stamped the sentiment from the Color & Contour stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink.

The single rose was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the circle. I coloured the rose in using Pool Party and Wild Wheat Blends Pens. The circle was the glued to the inside panel, roughly in the centre but not visible when the card was closed.

The panel of Pool Party card was adhered to the back of the central dsp panel. This gives the card more stability. The 5” by 3⅝” piece of Softly Stippled dsp was glued to the remaining piece of Basic White card. The panel was then gled to the back of the Pool Party layer.

The remaining die cut circle was glued to the back panel of the card. This will give me a place to write a message. I also stamped a 2nd rose onto scrap Basic White card, coloured it in as before and fussy cut it out before gluing it to the card circle.

Simply Sophisticated Bottles card for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we are sharing projects inspired by a dice roll – In Colors, Masking, Friend, Staple and Fun Fold. I have combined the Bottled Happiness stamp set from the Annual catalogue and the Softy Sophisticated stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure to make my card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the simply sophisticated bottles card, you will need:

Sweet Sorbet card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pebbled Path card – 4⅞” by 3⅛”
Basic White card – 4¾” by 3”
Basic White card – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – for the inside

I stamped the smaller, squat bottle in Orchid Oasis ink at the bottom of the  4¾” by 3” piece of Basic White card, roughly in the middle. I stamped the image again onto a Post It Note taking care to position it largely onto the sticky part, and cut it out with scissors. I placed it over the stamped image and stamped the taller bottle to the left in Boho Blue ink and the squat bottle to the right in Tahitian Tide ink.

Leaving the mask in position I stamped the leafy spray in Parakeet Party ink and added the flowers in Sweet Sorbet ink. I removed the mask.

The ‘ground’ was stamped in Pebble Path ink using a stamp from the Trucking Along stamp set and the whole panel was glued to the panel of Pebbled Path card. The whole piece was then added to what was left of the card front, lining up the upper left corner with the cut line.

A thin strip of Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis card were flagged and stapled to the front panel.

A floating panel card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop fun fold challenge made using the So Refreshing stamp set and dies by Stampin' Up!

So Refreshing Floating Panel card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing fun fold cards. Love fun folds and today I am sharing a floating panel card made using the So Refreshing stamp set and inspired by Susan Campfield – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn3Lrs-aNu4.

The colours used in this card are:

To recreate the so refreshing card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 2 1/16” and 4⅛”
Stargazing dsp – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Stargazing dsp – 5⅝” by 1⅞” x 2
Basic White card – 5” by 3½”
Basic White card – 4” by 3”
Basic White card – 3” by 2” – scored at ¾”, 1½”, 2¼”
Scrap Basic White card

I folded and burnished the score lines on the Thick Basic White card base and glued the panels of Stargazing dsp to the card base.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The So Refreshing stamp set and dies used to make a floating panel card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop fun fold challenge

Using the Scalloped Contour Dies, I die cut rectangles from 5” by 3½” and 4” by 3” panels of Basic White card. I trimmed off the left side of the larger rectangle. Using a Blending Brush, I added Berry Burst ink, lightly around the edges of both of the scalloped rectangles. The sentiment was then stamped at the top of the smaller rectangle in Berry Burst ink.

The outline of the jug was stamped in Pebbled Path ink onto scrap Basic White card and added the infill in Lemon Lime Twist ink. The glass was stamped next in Pebbled Path ink and added the infill using the same Lemon Lime Twist ink.

The outline limes, outline leaves and slice of lime were all stamped in Granny Apple Green ink and the infill of the leaves and limes in Lemon Lime Twist ink all on Basic White card.

The spray of flowers was stamped on scrap Basic White card, the stem and leaves in Granny Apple Green, outline flowers in Berry Burst ink and infill flowers in Bubble Bath ink. I stamped an extra flower and trimmed it out using Scissors.

The two scalloped rectangles were then decorated with all the die cut pieces.

The larger rectangle with the cut down side was then inserted onto the back panel. I didn’t do this correctly………. I didn’t actually watch Susan’s video to the end as I thought I knew what she had done……….. haven’t we all made that mistake. What I should have done was fold in the two outer pieces of the 3” by 2” panel and place them, folded side down, straddling the scoreline and adhering them with a strong adhesive. The rectangle panel should then be glued to the left had side.

The smaller rectangle is then added to the front piece with glue only on the left side.

Paper Florist Double Z Fold birthday card

Hello and welcome to the Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on recently and I have chosen to share a card made using the gorgeous  Paper Florist Dies.

Pebbled Path card – 5⅜” by 5⅜”

Bright & Beautiful dsp – 5¼” by 5¼”

Pebbled Path card – 5⅜” by 2⅝” x 2
Bright & Beautiful dsp 5¼” by 2½” x2

Thick Whisper White cardstock 9¼” by 4¼” – scored and folded on the long side at 2¾” and 5½” – Rounded upper right and left corners
Pebbled Path card – 4” by 3½” – Rounded upper left corner

Whisper White 3⅝” by 2¼” – Rounded upper right corner
Scrap Whisper White, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly and Soft Sea Foam

Using the stunning Paper Florist Dies I die cut a variety of flowers and leaves from scrap Basic White, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly and Soft Sea Foam. I shaped the flowers using a ball tool and a bone folder and assembled the flowers using Mini Glue Dots between each layer and a Mini Dimensional under the flower centres. The flowers were then added to the card front, and two inside panels.

The sentiment from the Best Family Ever stamp set was stamped on scrap Basic White card in Pebbled Path ink. I trimmed it out with Scissors and added it to the front panel.
