I love combining elements from different stamp sets to create something new and different and have created a basket of blooms using the Cheerful Basket stamp set and Wisteria Wishes stamp set.
To recreate the basket of blooms stamp set, you will need:
Pale Papaya card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” Sweet Sorbet card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside Scrap Basic White& Old Olive card
I saw a Youtube video a while ago showing how to colour using ordinary colouring pencils with Vaseline which helps them to blend. I wondered if it would work with our Watercolor pencils and thought I would give it a go.
The basket from the Cheerful Basket stamp set was stamped in Sahara Sand ink and used the Early Espresso and Cajun Craze watercolor pencils to add colour to the basket. I dipped the tip of the pencil into a small pot of Vaseline before applying the colour, dipping again as needed. The colour went on really smoothly and I was able to get a really rich colour by building up the layers. The basket was die cut using the Full Basket dies.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Wisteria Wishes and the Cheerful Basket stamp sets used to make a pretty basket of blooms card
The stems and leaves were stamped on the smaller panel of Basic White card in Old Olive ink and the die cut basket added with .Multicoloured Liquid Adhesive. The panel was then glued to the Sweet Sorbet layer.
I wrapped a length of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon around the panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape. The whole panel was then adhered to the Pale Papaya card base.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Wisteria Wishes and the Cheerful Basket stamp sets used to make a pretty basket of blooms card
The flower spikes from the Wisteria Wishes stamp set were inked with Pale Papaya ink and I added Sweet Sorbet ink to the tops with a Stampin’ Write Marker. The flowers were then stamped onto scrap Basic White card and die cut using the Wisteria Dies. They were added to the card front on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Wisteria Wishes and the Cheerful Basket stamp sets used to make a pretty basket of blooms card

I rubbed Crumb Cake ink onto the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder, carefully added the largest of the Tree Rings Dies, easing it into place. The largest piece of Very Vanilla card was placed inside and the folder closed. I then ran it through the Cut & Emboss Machine. Love these hybrid embossing folders where you can cut and emboss all at the same time. I set the inked, embossed and die cut tree rings to one side.
