Ribbons & Dragonflies for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing ribbon-based projects. I have teamed my chosen ribbons with the Dragonfly Punch.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the ribbons and dragonflies’ card, you will need:

Pale Papaya card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Thick Very Vanilla card base– 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Soft Suede card – 5⅛” by 3½”
Very Vanilla card – 4⅞” by 3¼”
Adhesive Sheet – 4⅞” by 3¼”
Soft Suede card – 2¼” by 2”
Very Vanilla card – 1¾” by 1½”
Scrap Distressed Gold paper

I peeled off the protective backing from the Adhesive Sheet and applied it to the 4⅞” by 3¼” panel of Very Vanilla card.

The second protective layer was then removed and the adhesive exposed.

Strips of satin ribbon from my stash were then applied, edge to edge across the panel. I pressed each strip well down onto the adhesive to make sure the ribbons stuck. The excess ribbon was then trimmed off. The panel was then embossed using the Hive 3D folder, such a cool effect.

The ribbon panel was then glued to the Soft Suede layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was then mounted onto the Thick Very Vanilla card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto the small piece of Very Vanilla and die cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies. I also die cut a hexagon from the piece of Soft Suede card and added it behind the sentiment. The sentiment was glued to the card front.

I punched out a trio of small dragonflies using the Dragonfly Punch and added them to the card front on Mini Glue Dots and popped a Classic Matte Dot onto the body of each dragonfly.
