Here is a sweet card made using the pretty Sweet Songbirds stamp set. I originally made this for a sketch challenge……. then I realised that I hadn’t read the brief properly and had used the wrong products……. don’t you just hate when you do that!
Colours used in this project are:
To recreate the songbird card, you will need:
Thick Basic White card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Pool Party card – 5½” by 3¾”
Design A Daydream dsp – 3¾” by 3¾”
Design A Daydream dsp – 5½” by 1½”
Design A Daydream dsp – 4½” by 1⅞”
Design A Daydream dsp – 3¾” by ⅜”
Basic White card – 3½” by 3½”
Basic White card – 1½” by 1½”
Basic White card – 1” by ½” x 3
Scrap of Vellum
I began by cutting all the pieces of the Design A Daydream dsp and adhering them to the Pool Party panel.
The 3 small ½” pieces of Basic White were then tucked along the bottom edge.
The largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies was die cut from the larger square of Basic White card. The branch was stamped, a couple of times, in Crumb Cake ink along the bottom of the circle. I added leaves in Old Olive ink. The bird’s feet were stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink and the bird in Pool Party ink. I added the eyes in Blackberry Bliss, a beak in Daffodil Delight and flowers in Petal Pink ink. The stamped circle was added to the card front on Dimensionals.
The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the smaller Basic White square and die cut using the same set of dies. It was added to the card front on a Dimensional.
Using the Meadow Dies, I die cut a butterfly from scrap Vellum and added it to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and a line of Basic Rhinestones added as the butterfly body.
Such a pretty card. I hope you like it.
