Thank you for joining me today for the Joy of Sets blog hop where our theme is ‘Thankful for You’. If you hopped over from the talented Alejandra Gomez, I am sure you loved her project. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes in the UK. I hope you like my project today.
To recreate the Thankful for You card, you will need:
Thick Whisper White card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Bumble bee – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper right corner
Dandy Garden dsp – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper right corner
Bumblebee – 4⅞” by 3⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 4⅝” by 2⅞” – Rounded upper right corner
Scrap Misty Moonlight
The piece of Dandy Garden dsp was glued to the larger layer of Bumblebee card using liquid adhesive. I love the yellow and blue together, don’t you? This layer was then glued onto the Thick Whisper White card base using the same liquid adhesive.
I stamped the gorgeous, delicate group of flowers from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set using Basic Gray ink onto the Whisper White panel.
The flowers and leaves were then coloured in using the following Blends – So Saffron, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Pool Party and Soft Suede. The stamped layer was glued to the smaller Bumblebee layer with the liquid adhesive.
I wrapped a length of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon around the panel and secured it on the back with Sellotape. The whole panel was added to the card front on Dimensionals.
I rubbed my embossing body over a scrap piece of Misty Moonlight card and the sentiment from the Country Home stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink. I covered the Versamark with White Embossing Powder and Heat Set it using my Heat Tool.
Using my sharp scissors, I fussy cut the sentiment. I only wanted part of the sentiment for this card and this is a great way to get more from the sentiments you have. The sentiment was added over the ribbon with liquid glue and a bow of the same ribbon added to the side. I added a trio of 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots around the flowers. To complete the card, I fussy cut a couple of tiny dragonflies from the Dandy Garden dsp and added them to the card front with a spot of glue.
I hope you like it.
