I lightly drew a line across the Thick Basic White card base in Pencil. Using the small heart from the stamp set I was then stamped along the line using all the colours. The pencil line was then rubbed out.  The whole decorated panel was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

A lovely Joy of Painting card made for the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop using the Crafting with You stamp set and Meandering Meadows dsp from Stampin' Up

Joy of Painting card – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

The other day I caught a programme on TV that I have not seen for years, a real flash back. It was really popular in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s and seems to be having a bit of a resurgence.  The programme was called Joy of Painting and was hosted by painter Bob Ross who mostly taught techniques for painting landscapes. This programme has inspired my Joy of Painting card for the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the Joy of Painting card, you will need:

Highland Heather card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 3¼”
Blueberry Bushel card – 4” by 3”
Basic White card – 3⅞” by 2⅞”
Meandering Meadow dsp – 2⅛” by 1½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White and Blueberry Bushel card

I began by stamping the group of paintbrushes from the Crafting with You stamp set, randomly all over the Highland Heather card front using Highland Heather ink.

The easel, from the same stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the 3⅞” by 2⅞” piece of Basic White card. I ‘grounded’ the image using a Light Smoky Slate Blends Pen.

From the Meandering Meadow dsp I cut a landscape scene and glued it to the Easel. The stamped panel was then adhered to the Blueberry Bushel panel and then to the 4¼” by 3¼” panel of Basic White card.

The sentiment, from the Something Fancy stamp set was stamped on scrap Basic White card in Blueberry Bushel ink. I punched the sentiment out using a 1¼” Circle Punch. I added the sentiment to a 1⅜” Scalloped Circle in Blueberry Bushel. I then added it to the card front.
