The Winter Meadow dsp and the Merriest Trees stamp set by Stampin' Up! and used to make cards for the Christmas Stampathon - Sentiment As The Star Blog Hop

The Sentiment As The Star for the Christmas Stampathon

Today I am sharing the cards made for the August 2023 Christmas Stampathon where the theme is ‘Sentiment As The Star’ – what a great theme. I used a sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set and tried my hand at making a faux shutter card.

Colours in this project are:

To recreate one sentiment as the star card, you will need:

Blueberry Bushel card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Winter Meadow dsp – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 2⅛” by 2⅛”
Blueberry Bushel card – 4½” by ¼” x 2
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside
Scrap Winter Meadow dsp

I stamped the sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set in Blueberry Bushel ink onto the square of Basic White card.

Lining the panel of Winter Meadow dsp up with my grid paper to find the centre I added the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Lining the end of a Blueberry Bushel ¼” strip with a corner of the sentiment square, I adhered it in place using the same liquid glue. The excess was the trimmed off. I repeated this step on all 4 side of the sentiment panel.

I added liquid glue to 2 of the triangular panels, tucked in a piece of co-ordinating scrap dsp and trimmed off the excess. I repeated this step in the opposite corner. The panel was then glued to the 5⅜” by 3⅝” piece of Basic White card.

6 matting layers – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – I chose Pool Party, Blueberry Bushel, Fresh Freesia & Gorgeous Grape – Rounded upper right corner
1½ A4 sheets of Basic White card – after stamping these were cut down to give 6 panels measuring 5¼” by 3½” and rounded the upper right corners
