A Christmas in July card made using the Cup of Tea and Christmas Seasons stamp sets by Stampin' Up! for the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

Cup of Christmas Foliage for the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Christmas In July’. I love a bit of Christmas crafting and in my opinion, you can’t start early enough. I have made a cup of Christmas Foliage today.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the cup of Christmas foliage card, you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Pool Party card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White card

I stamped the largest leafy sprig in Pool Party ink in the upper left and lower right corners of the Pool Party panel. I wrapped a length of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon around the panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape. I added it to the Pool Party card front using Mini Glue Dots. This gives the panel a little height and shadow.

The large label from the Seasonal Labels Dies was die cut from the smaller panel of Basic White card. I stamped around the edge in 2nd generation Pool Party ink.

I stamped the leafy sprig using Pear Pizzazz ink, the holly leaves in Garden Green ink. I used Cherry Cobbler ink for the berries and Crumb Cake for the base of the pinecones with the details being added in Soft Suede ink. These were all die cut using the Seasonal Labels Dies.

Christmas Season for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop where our theme is Winter/Holiday. I have chosen to make a pretty Christmas card using the Christmas Season stamp set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Christmas Season card, you will need:

Soft Succulent card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Garden Green card – 5⅝” by 3⅞”– rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner – one for the inside
Basic White card – 3” by 2”
Scrap Basic White & Gold Foil

I stamped the larger leaf sprig in Soft Succulent ink onto scrap Basic White card. The holly leaves were stamped on the same scrap card in Garden Green ink. Using Cherry Cobbler ink I stamped the berries onto the scrap Basic White card and added the stalks in Soft Suede ink. Using the Seasonal Layers Dies I die cut all the stamped images.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive I tucked the leaves and berries in around the sentiment and added a scattering of dots in Pool Party ink. I still felt something was missing so die cut a couple of the leaves from the Seasonal Layers Dies from scraps of Gold Foil and added them to the panel.

Christmas Pinecones Classes

Today I am sharing the cards made for my November classes featuring the gorgeous Christmas Pinecones Dies. I don’t know about you, but I looked at the large intricate dies and wondered how I could use them ….. other then the obvious – die cut, add to the card front and slap a sentiment in the middle. I wanted to show my ladies the versatility of cutting the die cut piece apart.

Colours used in this project are:

The first thing we did was to die cut the large detailed foliage die from a ¼ sheet of Garden Green card. This is the piece that we cut apart and used on all our cards.

We always start with the fiddliest, most complicated card first, the idea being that we get this over while we are still concentrating!!

We embossed panel the narrow Garden Green panel using the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and one of the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders and added it to the smaller front flap of the Soft Succulent card base. The Gold Foil strip was then butted up to it.

We used either the pinecone or sprig to decorate the large Basic White panel and glued it to the inside of the card

We added glue to the left-hand side of the Crumb Cake scalloped rectangle – which I had cut ahead of time using the Scalloped Contour Dies, and added it to the left flap of the card base.

The sentiment, from the Christmas to Remember stamp set was stamped in Garden Green   onto the white card, die cut using one of the labels from the Seasonal Labels dies and add to the Crumb Cake panel on Dimensionals.

The detailed pinecone (gold) and Soft Suede pinecone base – cut by me ahead of time using the Seasonal Labels Dies, were glued together then and added to the label front with glue and/or dimensionals.

We then snipped apart the foliage from the large die cut and tucked sprigs behind the pinecones.

We flagged the ends of the Crumb Cake layer and added it to the Garden Green card base.

We embossed the Soft Succulent panel as above and added the panel to the smaller Basic White layer and added the strip of Gold Foil to the side. This piece was then mounted on the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped on the label, which I had die cut ahead of time and added to the card front on Dimensionals.

We assembled the die cut pinecones and added then with sprigs of foliage behind the label.
