Today I am sharing a pretty Christmas card of rainbow plaid trees made using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the co-ordinating Pine Tree Punch.
To Recreate the Rainbow Plaid Trees card you will need:
Thick Whisper White – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Night of Navy – 5⅞” by ½” x 2 Whisper White – 5⅞” by 2½” Scrap Whisper White
This is such a simple card to make and so easy for a beginner to make.
I stamped the plaid tree on scrap Whisper White in the following colours – Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz ink. The trees were then punched out using the co-ordinating Pine Tree Punch.

Today’s card uses the fabulous So Many Stars stamp set and the Merry Christmas dies to make a gorgeous starry Christmas card.
To recreate the Starry Christmas card you will need:
Blueberry Bushel card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner Real Red – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper right corner Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner x 2 Scrap Real Red and Blueberry Bushel
I began by stamping the largest star from the So many Stars stamp set onto one of the Whisper White panels using Blueberry Bushel ink. The medium sized satr was stamped using the Golden Glitz Delicata ink.
I only wanted a couple of the small stars so I cut the strip of stars apart………I know……brave or what….. I stamped the pair of stars in Shaded Spruce ink. I filled in with the tiniest star in Real Red ink.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A quick Christmas card made using the So Many Stars stamp set and Merry Christmas dies
I die cut the word ‘Christmas’ 3 times from scrap Real Red cardstock and adhered them one on top of the otherto give a bit of dimension. I coated the die cut stack with Shimmering Crystal Effects and set it to one side to dry, it was then added to the stamped panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A quick Christmas card made using the So Many Stars stamp set and Merry Christmas dies
I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over a scrap of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and stamped the word ‘Merry’ from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set in Versamark ink. I covered it with Gold Embossing Powder, heat set it with a Heat Tool and cut the word Merry out. This was added above the die cut word on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A quick Christmas card made using the So Many Stars stamp set and Merry Christmas dies
The stamped panel was glued to the Real Red panel which was then added to the Blueberry Bushel card base.

Welcome to the first ever ‘Hopping Around the World’ Blog Hop where our theme is Christmas cards………..so exciting…….I love Christmas!!! If you have hopped over from Jennifer Downey or started with me – WELCOME and enjoy the hop.
For the hop I am sharing a card made for a lovely friend to give to her son and his family at Christmas. I chose to make it using the Playful Penguins stamp set……after all who doesn’t love a penguin.
To recreate the Hopping Around the World Playful Penguin double Z fold card you will need:
Thick Whisper White card base 11” by 5½” – scored at 2¾” and 5½” Let It Snow designer series paper (dsp) – one piece at 5¼” by 5¼” and two pieces at 5¼” by 2½”
Seaside Spray 9¼” by 4¼” – scored at 2¾” and 5½” – all upper corners rounded Blueberry Bushel – one piece at 4” by 3½” and two at 4” by 2½” – all upper corners rounded Whisper White – one piece at 3⅞” by 3⅜” and two at 3⅞” by 2⅜” – all upper corners rounded Scrap Whisper White cardstock
I folded and burnished the score lines of the Thick Whisper White cards base and glued the panels of Let It Snow dsp to it before setting it to one side. I folded and burnished the scorelines of the Seaside Spray piece and added the Blueberry Bushel panels using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A double Z fold card featuring the Playful Penguins stamp set for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop
I stamped one of the cute penguins on the larger Whisper White panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Using the Seaside Spray ink pad and a sponge I added colour to the panel around the penguin and stamped some ‘ground’ in 2nd and 3rd generation Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the tiny stars from the Most Wonderful Time stamps set in the upper right corner of the panel in Blueberry Bushel ink for a little added interest.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A double Z fold card featuring the Playful Penguins stamp set for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop
I used the Make a Difference stamp set to stamp the ‘Son and family’ – it was the first time I had used this stamp set and I was delighted to find the letters so easy to line up. I punched the sentiment with 1½” Circle Punch and added it to the panel with Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A double Z fold card featuring the Playful Penguins stamp set for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop
Another penguin was stamped on scrap Whisper White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out with sharp scissors. The penguin was added to the stamped panel on Dimensionals. The layer was then mounted onto the larger Blueberry Bushel layer using multipurpose liquid adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A double Z fold card featuring the Playful Penguins stamp set for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop
A penguin was stamped on one of the smaller Whisper White panels in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, ground added in 3rd generation of the same ink and stars added as before with Blueberry Bushel ink. The stamped piece was then added onto the last Blueberry Bushel layer with liquid adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A double Z fold card featuring the Playful Penguins stamp set for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop
The sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on the remaining Whisper White layer and adhered to the middle panel.
The Seaside Spray/Blueberry Bushel layer was then adhered to the Thick Whisper White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A double Z fold card featuring the Playful Penguins stamp set for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop
To finish the card off I added a trio of In Color Faceted Dots to the front panel, added some retired Black Rhinestones for the Penguins eyes and covered all three penguins in Clear Wink of Stella. To finish the card I coloured in the beak of all three penguins using the light So Saffron Blends Marker Pen. I still felt something was missing and ended up adding some of the lovely Snowflake Sequins. I made an envelope for the card using retired dsp and my Envelope Punch Board.
Such a pretty card, I do hope you and my lovely friend like it.
Next up is Sandra Herzog and I am looking forward to seeing what she shares with us today.

Welcome to this months perfectly awsome Stamper’s Showcase blog hop where our theme is ‘Holiday catalogue’.
I love, love the holiday catalogue and it was so difficult to choose one set to showcase but finally I settled on the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree Punch. I chose this stamp set because it is so easy to make great cards with and is accessible to crafters of all levels. Having a punch also makes it ideal for the beginner and casual crafter.
To recreate the Perfectly Plaid card you will need:
Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Whisper White – 5½” by 3¾” Whisper White – 5⅞” by 3⅝” Let It Snow dsp – 5⅞” by ½” x 2 Noble Peacock Foil – 5⅞” by ⅛” x 2 Scrap Whisper White
I began by stamping the 2 Real Red plaid trees onto the long, thin strip of Whisper White cardstock.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A Christmas card made using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree Punch
I punched out 2 trees from PostIt notes using the Pine Tree Punch and used these to mask the stamped trees. Other trees were added behind. A plaid tree was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock, punched out and added to the panel in the centre on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A Christmas card made using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree Punch
The stamped layer was glued to the 2 strips of dsp using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The 2 strips of Nobel Peacock Foil were then added to the panel with the same glue.
