A pretty flirty snowman Christmas card made using the Snowman Seasons stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Flirty Snowman

This Flirty Snowman card started out as a swap I received at OnStage Live in Dortmand from one of my lovely team mates Katie Van Der Heijden. She designed the 3” by 3” Coastal Cabana square as a mini pizza box topper. I went rogue and added mine to a card front.

To recreate the Flirty Snowman card you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Coastal Cabana 3” by 3”
Whisper White 2⅞” by 2⅞”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Scrap Flirty Flamingo

Katie had stamped the snowman from the Snowman Seasons stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto the small panel of Whisper White.

The snowman was coloured in by Katie using the following Blends Markers – Smoky Slate combo, Flirty Flamingo combo and Purple Posy combo.  A trio of Basic Pearls, coloured with the dark Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker was added.

The snowflakes were then stamped around the edges with Coastal Cabana ink and the stamped panel was then added to the Coastal Cabana layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

IThe sentiment was stamped onto scrap Flirty Flaming cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and punched out using the Classic Label punch. The right side was trimmed down and the sentiment added on Dimensionals.

I took a Flirty Flamingo card base and stamped the snowflakes in Flirty Flamingo ink in 3 places to form a triangle which is apparently pleasing to the eye. The stamped topper was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the remaining Whisper White layer and the front of the envelope with the snowflakes in Coastal Cabana ink.

I hope you and Katie like my re-purposing of this swap.

A sweet Christmas card made using all the shades of green in the Stampin' Up! colour palette

Monochromatic From Our House To Yours

Today I am sharing a Monochromatic From Our House To Yours  Christmas Card which I made a while ago for a team challenge. I love these challenges as they really push you out of your comfort zone and force you to use different  products, colours or layouts than you would normally choose.

To recreate the Monochromatic From Your House To Yours card you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Most Wonderful Time dsp – 5¼” by 3⅜” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5” by 3⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜ by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner – for the inside

Taking the smaller panel of Whisper White I drew a light pencil line about an inch from the bottom. I used the line to position the house as I have real problems stamping straight……

A sweet Christmas card made using the stunning Free As A Bird stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Robin Redbrest – Free As A Bird

Welcome to the December Hopping Around the World blog hop where our theme is ‘our favourite stamp set’. Oh my goodness this was a hard challenge, so many gorgeous stamp sets and bundles to choose from………..……. I eventually settled on the beautiful Free As A Bird stamp set and made a Christmas card for my Mum who loves robin redbreasts.

I hope you loved Jennifer Downey’s project as much as I did – if you haven’t seen it click on her name to go backwards.

To recreate the Robin Redbrest – Free As A Bird Christmas Card card you will need:

Thick Whisper White – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Mossy Meadow – 2¾” by 2¾”
Whisper White – 2½” by 2½”
Scrap Whisper White and Poppy Parade

I stamped the group of birds on an bough across the Thick Whisper White card front in Soft Sea Foam ink.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Robin Redbrest Christmas card made using the Free As A Bird stamp set

I stamped the single bird onto the square of Whisper White in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and added a sray of leaves above before die cutting the bird out using the Layering Circle dies. I also cut a slightly larger scalloped circle from the square of Mossy Meadow. I adhered the 2 circles together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I stamped the spray of leaves again on scrap Whisper White and fussy cut the leaves with my sharp scissors.

Using the following Blends Markers I coloured in the the bird and leaves – Mossy Meadow combo, Crumb Cake combo and Calyso Coral combo. I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto the card front and added the circle piece to the card front on Dimensionals.

I die cut a flower from scrap Poppy Parade cardstock using the Bouquet Bunch dies and added the trimmed out leaves and the flower to the circle using Mini Glue Dots. A single Gold Metallic Pearl was added to the card front to finish the card.

I really loved the card, so much so that I went ahead and made a second landscape version using a Soft Sea Foam card base and a 2” by 4” panel of Whisper White. The bird and leaves were stamped on the Whisper White panel and coloured in the same way and I used the Banner Triple Punch to flag the end.

I also made a couple of tags to go with the cards using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch, I just need to find some ribbon to complete them.
