Amazing Life for the GDP #176 – CASE the designer

Today I am sharing a card I designed for the Global Design Project #176 – CASE the Designer Challenge. I loved the rainbow colours in Steffi’s beautiful card and made that my starting point.

Making the card

I began by choosing the image I wanted to use. It had to be fairly small and ideally a fairly open image. In the end I went for the sweet little flower stamp in the Amazing Life stamp set.

Next I looked at colours; I knew I wanted a rainbow to mimic Steffi’s card and tried out a few variations of colour before settling for – Berry Burst, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Granny Apple Green, Blueberry Bushel and Gorgeous Grape – in hind sight I should have gone for Lovelly Lipstick as my first colour but completely forgot about it……..it’s been that kind of day.

After stamping the flower in each of the colours onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5¼” by 3½” I rounded the upper left corner with my Detailed Trio Punch. I added a layer of Basic Gray layer 5⅜” by 3⅝” behind the Whisper White panel having rounded the same corner and using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I added the whole stamped panel to the front of a Granny Apple Green card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Basic Gray on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock ⅜” wide. This was then trimmed down and one end flagged using my scissors. I added the sentiment to a scrap of Granny Apple Green ½” wide and trimmed to fit. This was added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the flower again in Grapefruit Grove onto a panel of Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” which was them glued inside the card. The same image was then stamped in the same colour onto a Whisper White envelope. To complete the card I added a few of the gorgeous Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.

A very simple card, I hope you like it .

Amazing Life stamp set by Stampin' Up! used for good luck cards

Good luck cards using the Amazing Life stamp set

Today I am sharing a pair of good luck cards made using the Amazing Life stamp set for 2 friends who are going for job interviews this week.

Making the cards

I love the 4 leaf clover image from the Amazing Life stamp set and it goes so well with the great ‘good luck’ sentiment.

I started with two Whisper White cardstock panels measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝”. I stamped the clover leaf randomly in a corner of each of the panels in Call Me Clover ink………..I couldn’t  really chose any other green! I added the stamped layers to panels of Basic Grey cardstock 5½” by 3¾” with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. On the landscape panel I added a piece of ⅛” Call Me Clover Grosgrain Ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment twice in Call Me Clover ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and die cut them using my Big Shot and the gorgeous pierced edge sentiment die from the Wonderful Floral Framelit Dies. I love the fact that changing the orientation of the sentiment and the card can give it such a different look.

I added the sentiments to the card fronts on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a Call Me Clover Grosgrain Ribbon bow to each card. I scattered a trio of Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots on each card.

A pretty birthday card made using the Butterfly Gala stamp set and embossed resist technique

Emboss Resist Butterfly Gala for a Inspire Create Challenge #032

I have been playing with ideas for next year’s classes and came up with this one using the emboss resist technique and the gorgeous Butterfly Gala stamp set. It was the perfect card for the Inspire Create Challenge #032. This is a sketch challenge but the image shows only a blank page so we can submit anything at all for the challenge.

Making the card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅞” by 2⅛”. I ran over the panel with my embossing buddy to get rid of static and stamped one of the lovely double butterfly images randomly down the panel in Versamark ink. I covered the Versamark ink with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

I inked up one of the sponge brayers with Lemon Lime Twist ink and inked up the bottom third of the stamped panel. I then added Balmy Blue ink to the middle of the panel and Highland Heather to the top of the panel making sure to blend the layers together. I wiped over the panel with some kitchen paper to remove the excess ink from the embossed butterflies and set the panel aside to dry. When dry I glued it to a 5⅞” by 2⅜”piece of Botanical Butterfly dsp.

Taking a Thick Whisper White card base I stamped the double butterfly down the card front in the same order of ink. The stamped and embossed panel was added with multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the centre left of the card front with the stamped butterflies peeking out.

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Life stamp set in Versamark ink, added Whisper White embossing powder and heat set it. This was added to the card front with liquid adhesive and some basic rhinestones were then added to complete the card.

Love this colour combo, such a pretty card. I am delighted to say I won this challenge!!
