All Things Fabulous stamp set used to make a pretty floral card inspired by a friends tee shirt

Fabulous Inspiration

I am sharing a pretty card today inspired by a top worn by my friend Becky. I loved the colour combo and design and had to try to make a card using the same idea of flowers and butterflies.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the fabulous inspiration card, you will need:

Smokey Slate card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 4” by 2½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Scrap Basic White

Using the group of tiny butterflies/dragonflies, I stamped all over the front of the Smoky Slate card front with Smoky Slate ink.

Next, I chose 2 of the flowers from the All Things Fabulous Stamp set. I wanted the larger flower to be yellow and the smaller flower pink. These are both 3 step stamping flowers and I always find these easier to line up if I start with the middle image first.

I began by stamping the middle image of the larger flower in 2nd generation So Saffron ink. I added the first, more solid image in 3rd generation So Saffron ink getting a lighter shade. Lastly, I added the final most detailed image in full strength So Saffron ink. I repeated this for the second flower.

The smaller flower was stamped in exactly the same way using Flirty Flamingo ink.

I inked the leaves in Soft Succulent ink and added some Evening Evergreen ink to the edges of the leaves using the ‘rock & roll’ technique. You take the inked stamp and roll the edges around in the darker ink before stamping.

All the images were then die cut using my Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and the Fabulous Florals Dies. I also die cut a label from the small panel of Basic White card using the Tasteful Labels Dies.

The sentiment from the Sweet As A Peach stamp set was stamped in Soft Succulent ink onto the die cut label and added to the card front on Dimensionals. The flowers and leaves were the arranged around the label and adhered using a combination of Dimensionals and liquid Glue.

I added a trio of 2021 – 2023 In Color Jewels to finish the card.

I love it. I hope you do as well.
