I have been playing with the Spotlight on Nature stamp set today and have made a pretty sympathy card featuring the butterfly.
Colours used in this card are:
To recreate the spotlight butterfly card, you will need:
Highland Heather card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Misty Moonlight card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card
Using the Stylish Shapes Dies I die cut 2 circles from scrap Basic White card. I kept both negative pieces and the smaller die cut circle.
The smaller negative circle was placed onto the 5⅛” by 3⅜” piece of Basic White card and Azure Afternoon ink was then added using a Blending Brush. Leaving the circle mask in place I stamped the butterfly and the flower with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I removed the smaller negative circle, covered the inked circle with the smaller die cut circle and then added the larger negative circle to form a frame. I used a Blending Brush to add Misty Moonlight ink to the frame before removing the mask.
The following Blends Pens were used to colour in the images – Azure Afternoon, Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather and Old Olive.
The sentiment, from the Something Fancy stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink and the decorated panel was then glued to the Misty Moonlight panel. A length of Azure Afternoon Ribbon was wrapped around the panel before it was added to the Highland Heather card front on Dimensionals.
A trio of Purple Shimmer Gems finish the card.
