Rustic Christmas Crate – Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we are being inspired to make a Christmas card using a sketch and colour challenge.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the rustic crate card, you will need:

Real Red card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5½” by 4”
Garden Green card – 5” by 3”
Basic White card – 4” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

Using the poinsettia image, I stamped in the upper left and lower right corner of the Real Red card base using Real Red ink.

The poinsettia image was then stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the panel of Basic White card measuring 4” by 3”. I stamped the same image onto a Post It note, taking care to stamp part of the image onto the sticky part. I used scissors to cut out this image to use as a mask.

Placing the mask over the stamped image, I stamped the wooden crate over the bottom of the image using Pecan Pie ink. The mask was then removed.

I coloured the image in using the following Blends Pens – Real Red and Granny Apple Green. The flower centres were coloured using a Garden Green Stampin Write Marker from the Regals Collection. I grounded the image with a Crumb Cake Blends Pen.

Using the Countryside Corners Dies I die cut the stamped and coloured image and added it to a slightly larger label die cut from the Garden Green layer using the Countryside Corner Dies. The two labels were adhered together.

I die cut a larger label from the 5½” by 4” panel of Basic White card using the same dies. I wrapped a length of checked ribbon around the label, securing it on the back with Sellotape. I glued it to the Real Red card front. The stamped panel was added on Dimensionals to the card front.

The sentiment, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped in Garden Green ink. I cut it down, flagged the end and added it to the card front. A trio of Iridescent Foil Gems and a ribbon bow completed the card.

Please hop on to share the inspiration provided by my crafty friends. Next up is the lovely Leonie Stuart
