A gorgeous Christmas card made using the Peaceful Cabin stamp set by Stampin' Up! and made for a team swap

Team Swaps – Peaceful Cabin

We had a fun team meeting yesterday, first in person meet since before Christmas 2019. It was so lovely to see everyone again and to share news and inspiration. As part of the event many of us made swaps to share and I chose to make mine using the Peaceful Cabin stamp set from the July – December 2021 mini catalogue which launches to customers on the 3rd August.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the team swap card, you will need:

Balmy Blue cad base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Mossy Meadow card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner – for the inside
Basic White card – ⅜” strip

I stamped the cabin in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the smaller panel of Basic White card. I was making multiple cards for the team swap and the Stamparatus gave me the opportunity to stamp the image many times with ease. I could also re-stamp if I wanted the image to be darker. Love my Stamparatus.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A snowy peaceful cabin in the woods for my team meeting swap card, using Stampin’ Up! products

I stamped the image again on a Post It Note, cut it out and used it to mask the cabin before stamping the large trees in Mossy Meadow ink.

The mask was left in place and I added a 1” circle mask for the moon. Using a Blending Brush, I added Balmy Blue ink to create the sky behind the cabin and trees.  The masks were then removed.

The ‘snow’ on the ground was coloured using a very light application of Pool Party ink using a Blending Brush.

The clouds were added in Balmy Blue ink to give some texture to the sky. The sweet little fox was added in Cinnamon Cider ink. The inked panel was then added to the Mossy Meadow layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then added to the Balmy Blue card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment – from the Peaceful Deer stamp set – in Mossy Meadow ink onto the Basic White strip, trimmed it down with Scissors and added it to the card front. To finish I added Clear Wink of Stella to the roof of the cabin and the snow on the ground, so pretty.

Pansy Petals designer series paper combined with the In Bloom dies to make a pretty flowers in bloom card

Flowers In Bloom card

Today I ‘ve been playing with the Pierced Bloom dies, haven’t had these out for a while and I had forgotten how pretty these flowers are. I have made a pretty, flowers in bloom card.

The colours used in this project are:

To recreate the flowers in bloom card, you will need:

Thick Basic White – 5⅞” by 5⅜” – scored at 4⅓” on the 5⅜” side
Pansy Petals dsp – 5⅞” by 4⅓”
Pansy Petals dsp – 5⅞” by 1¼”

The Christmas Trimmings Dies used to make a star themed Christmas card for the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Christmas Trimmings for the Ink. Stamp, Share. Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp, Share Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Christmas in July’.  We have so many lovely Christmas goodies coming in the new July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue that we can sometimes overlook the Christmas sets in the Annual Catalogue. I have chosen to use one of these sets, Christmas Trimmings,  to make my card.

Colours used in this project are:

T recreate the Christmas Trimmings card, you will need:

So Saffron card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Early Espresso card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Very Vanilla card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner x 2 – one for the inside
Early Espresso card – 3¼” by ⅝”
Gold Metallic Speciality Paper

Using the’ basket weave’ image from the Natural Textures stamp set I stamped in 2nd generation So Saffron ink to stamp all over one of the Very Vanilla panels. This gives both colour and texture to the background. The stamped panel was then added to the Early Espresso panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, then to the So Saffron card base with the same glue.

Using the liquid glue, I then inlaid the flower petals from the die cut Red Foil piece. I love how it looks, so dramatic.

The layer of Basic Black was then mounted on the Basic Black card front using Black Dimensionals. I will add a sentiment before sending the card.

Brilliant Butterfly Dies and Expressions in Ink dsp by Stampin' Up! used to make a pretty inlaid butterflies card

Inlaid Butterfly card

Here is an inlaid butterfly card made using the pretty Brilliant Wings Dies and the gorgeous Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the inlaid butterfly card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Expressions in Ink dsp – 5⅞” by 4⅓
Basic White card – 5⅞” by 3⅜”
Magenta Madness card – 5⅞” by ½”

The butterflies were die cut from the panel of Basic White using the Brilliant Wings Dies and my Cut & Emboss Machine. I set the die cut butterflies aside and ran the negative white panel back through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Bricks & Mortar Embossing Folder.

Mini Glue Dots were used to add each of the butterflies to the negative spaces, adhering only the body down, allowing the wings to rise.

Stampin' Up! products used to make a pretty card featuring an alcohol inked background and a tree canopy

Inked Canopy

I have been having fun playing with Blends Markers and Alcohol………such fun, add in the Inspiring Canopy Dies and I have one gorgeous inked canopy card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Inked Canopy card, you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Misty Moonlight card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2, one for the inside
Vellum – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – ¼” strip

I used the following dark Blends Markers – Bermuda Bay, Misty Moonlight, Just Jade and Balmy Blue to scribble blocks of colour onto the Vellum. I dipped an almost empty Clear Wink of Stella Brush to splatter and dab 90% alcohol onto the Vellum allowing the ink to spread and pool. The panel was then set aside to dry.

When the Vellum was dry I trimmed off ¼” from the side and the bottom to decorate the inside panel and the envelope. The Vellum was then added to one the Basic White panels using tiny dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The panel was then added to the Misty Moonlight panel using the same liquid glue. I used Dimensionals to add the panel to the Bermuda Bay card base.

The sentiment from the Inspiring Thoughts stamp set was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto the strip of Basic White card. I flagged the end and added the sentiment to the card front with liquid glue.

I love this card, I especially love the slight sparkle the Clear Wink of Stella has given to the Vellum. So pretty.
