Oh my goodness I love the gorgeous new Christmas Countdown Project Kit. It makes a super cute Advent Calender with a sturdy frame and pull out boxes which are a really good size – inside dimensions are 2” by 2” by 2”. Even better the kit comes with most of the elements you need to complete the calender.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A gorgeous Advent Calender made using the Christmas Countdown Project Kit
There is a co-ordinating stamp set which I do not have to add a little customization to the decoration. I used stamp sets I already have to do this.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A gorgeous Advent Calender made using the Christmas Countdown Project Kit
The calender was so quick and easy to put together as well.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A gorgeous project made using the Christmas Countdown Project Kit and Bird Ballard dsp
The other fantastic thing about the calender is that each box has 4 faces – I turned the boxes 180⁰ and decorated them all using the lovely Bird Ballard dsp. Each square of dsp was cut to a shade under 2” by a shade under 2” and a semicircle punched out with the 1” circle Punch. So many possibilities……..
I think I might use mine to store embellishments in.

Hello and welcome to the August Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop. This month we are focusing on Babies and Children and I have such a sweet card to share with you. I made this for friends who have recently had a sweet baby girl who they have named Phoebe. I chose to use the Little Elephant stamp set and the co-ordinating Elephant Builder Punch to make my card.
To recreate the Little Elephant card you will need;
Smokey Slate card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Rococo Rose 5 ½” by 3 ¾” Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 Smoky Slate 4 ¼” by 3” Whisper White 4 ¼” by 3” Scrap Rococo Rose and Whisper White
I really wanted to use the gorgeous Stitched lace die on this card. I die cut it from one of the Whisper White cardstock panels and used the new die brush attachment for the Take Your Pick Tool to get all the little pieces out. I added this large die cut piece to the Rococo Rose panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I placed the die cut piece face down on my silicone mat and applied the glue with a piece of sponge.
www.crafty-rootes.com -The Little Elephant stamp set and the Elephant Builder Punch used for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.com -The Little Elephant stamp set and the Elephant Builder Punch used for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop
I stamped the sweet little elephants on scrap Whisper White in Rococo Rose ink, the full strength ink was too dark so I stamped off first to get a lighter shade. I stamped the elephants again in Smoky Slate ink and punched out the 2 pink ones and the ears from the grey ones using the Elephant Builder Punch. I added the ears to each elephant on a dimensional.
www.crafty-rootes.com -The Little Elephant stamp set and the Elephant Builder Punch used for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop
I die cut a stitched oval from the small Whisper White layer using the Stitched Shapes dies. I inked up the strip of plaid image from the same stamp set using Smoky Slate ink, stamped off twice then stamped onto the bottom of the die cut oval. I added leaves from the Dino Days stamp set in 1st and 2nd generation Smoky Slate ink.
www.crafty-rootes.com -The Little Elephant stamp set and the Elephant Builder Punch used for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop
The elephants were glued to the die cut oval with the Multipurpose glue and added to a Scalloped Oval which was die cut from the Smoky Slate piece. The oval was added to the card front on Dimensionals.
I added a bow to the side of the oval with a Mini Glue Dot. The sentiment from the Little Elephant was stamped in Smoky Slate and Rococo Rose ink onto scrap Whisper White and backed with a scrap of Rococo Rose cardstock and glued to the card front.
