To recreate the Most Wonderful Time card you will need:

Real Red card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Basic Black – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Most Wonderful Time dsp 5¼” by 3½” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Scrap Whisper White and Old Olive

I mounted the dsp panel onto the Basic Black panel.

The sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set was stamped in Old Olive ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Tailored Punch. I punched the same shape again from the scrap Old Olive card, cut it down the middle and adhered it to the back of the stamped shape.

A Christmas stamp set used to make a cute Anniversary card for the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop

Cup of …………Anniversary?

Welcome to the September Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme this month is ‘ any stamp set or dsp’.  If you have come from the lovely Sandra Herzog I am sure you loved her project. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes from near Cambridge in the Uk. I hope you like what I am sharing today.

I don’t know about you but I love a set that can be used for more than one sort of occasion and as soon as I saw the Cup of Christmas stamp set in the Autumn/Winter catalogue I knew it would make a fantastic anniversary card.

To Recreate the Cup of…..Anniversary card you will need:

So Saffron card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Bermuda Bay cardstock – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 – rounded upper left corner
Scrap Whisper White cardstock

I began by stamping the 2 cups, one in Flirty Flamingo ink and the other in Bermuda Bay ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and die cut them out using the co-ordinating Cup of Cheer dies.

I placed them on one of the Whisper White panels for placement and added a Pearlised Doily.

A Christmas stamp set used to make a cute Anniversary card for the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – A pretty anniversary card made using the Cup of Christmas stamp set

At this point I wasn’t happy, I knew the card needed something else but I couldn’t decide what!!! Don’t you hate when that happens…….. I tried a couple of embossing folders but felt they over-powered the cups. I tried a coloured circle instead of the doily…….wasn’t happy with that either.

A Christmas stamp set used to make a cute Anniversary card for the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – A pretty anniversary card made using the Cup of Christmas stamp set

At this point I reached across my desk for my catalogue, seeking inspiration and accidently pulled out the pack of Basic Pattern Decorative Masks along with the catalogue. Light bulb moment right there!

I used a Sponge Dauber and So Saffron ink to colour through the mask and it was perfect, just what I was looking for.

www.crafty-rootes.com – A pretty anniversary card made using the Cup of Christmas stamp set

The sponged panel was mounted onto the Bermuda Bay layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. To add a bit more texture to the card front I added some of the gorgeous Polka Dot Tuille Ribbon and tucked the Pearlised Doily underneath. The panel was then added to the So Saffron card base with the same adhesive.

www.crafty-rootes.com – A pretty anniversary card made using the Cup of Christmas stamp set

The sentiment  from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink and the cups placed on top of the doily, the striped cup with the same liquid glue and the spotty cup on Dimensionals.  I added a Polka Dot Tuille bow and a trio of Iridescent Sequins to complete the card front.

I do hope you like my card. Please continue on to see what Narelle Fasulo has to share with us.

A lovely trio of autumnal themed cards using the Rooted in Nature stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Rooted in Nature for September Classes

It has felt very Autumnal here this week with cooler weather and the leaves beginning to turn so the cards we made in this weeks classes were very apt. We used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and co-ordinating Nature’s Roots dies.

Embossed Oak card

Smoky Slate card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Basic Black – 3⅝” by 3½” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 3½” by 3⅜” – Rounded upper right corner

Strip Whisper White ⅜” wide for sentiment

www.crafty-rootes.com The Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Roots dies for September Classes

We stamped the maple leaf in 1st and 2nd generation Smoky Slate ink down the left side of the card base. We punched a circle from Postit Notes using the 1¼” Circle Punch and used the cirle to mask an area for the moon. Using pieces of sponge we inked the smaller Whisper White panel with So Saffron ink and Mango Melody ink, the Postit circle was then removed.

Using the Stamparatus we stamped the oak tree in Versamark ink, covered it with black embossing powder and heat set it. The stamped panel was then mounted on the Basic Black layer and this was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

Spruce Tree card

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black 4½ ” by 3¾”
Whisper White 5” by 3¼” Vellum 4” by 1”
Scrap WW for tree

www.crafty-rootes.com The Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Roots dies for September Classes

The lovely spruce tree was stamped on scrap Whisper White with Basic Gray ink and die cut using the Nature’s Roots dies. We also die cut a second tree and the word ‘happy’ from the Well Written dies from the centre of the Basic Black panel making sure to stay away from the edges.

We stamped the cut through ‘tree trunk’ image in So Saffron ink onto the Whisper White panel and added the stamped sentiment from the Well Said stamp set in Basic Gray ink. The strip of Vellum was wrapped around the the stamped layer and secured on the back with Sellotape and the layer was added to the Basic Black panel. The ‘happy’ die cut was then adhered to the Vellum with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The whole panel was adhered with glue to the Thick Whisper White panel. The black tree was slipped under the Vellum piece and glued down. The stamped tree was then off set on Dimensionals.

Trio of Leaves card

Basic Gray card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner
Crushed Curry 5 ” by 3½” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner

Using the Stamparatus we stamped the centre leaf in So Saffron ink onto the smaller panel of Whisper White cardstock. The other leaves were stamped in 1st and 2nd generation Basic Gray ink using the hinge technique. Love this …….

The sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, again using the Stamparatus. We stamped it twice to give a really dark image. The stamped layer was added to the Crushed Curry layer and then mounted on the card front with Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings was stamped in Early Espresso ink before being punched out with the Classic Label Punch. To give a bit of dimension I inked around the label with a sponge dauber and Hightland Heather ink.

The tree was stamped in Early Espresso on the remaining piece of Whisper White and glued inside the card. The same image was used to decorate the front of the envelope.

Pretty card, I hope you like it.
