A masculine birthday card made using the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop

FONTS-amental

It is time for the Joy of Sets monthly blog hop where our theme is FONTS-amental!!!! Love this title. I love a good font but am strictly short and to the point when adding sentiments to a card. I have lots stamp sets with but find myself reaching for the same few tried and tested phrases every time. So for this challenge I have taken a sentiment only stamp set and used every one of the sentiments to make a card.

To recreate the FONTS-amental card you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pacific Point – 4⅞” by 3¼”
Whisper White – 4⅝” by 3”
Pear Pizzazz – 5⅞” by 1”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”

I mounted all the stamps from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set onto acrylic blocks and started stamping them in either Bermuda Bay ink, Pacific Point ink or Pear Pizzazz ink starting with the ‘Awesome at any age’ in the centre.

When all the sentiments had been stamped on the smallest Whisper White panel I added the stamped panel to the Pacific Point layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I ran the strip of Pear Pizzazz card through my die cutting machine with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder. I added the embossed strip diagonally across the front of the Bermuda Bay card base using the same liquid adhesive.

The stamped layer was then added to the card front using Dimensionals.

I toyed with adding some gems or some ribbon but in the end I decided to leave well alone.

A beautiful card using my favourite bundle - All Things Fabulous by Stampin' Up!

Favourite Bundle

Hello and welcome to the August Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop, if you have hopped on from Vickie Kello you are now with me, Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK.  Our theme this month is ‘favourite bundle’. There are so many gorgeous bundles in the new annual catalogue that I struggled to choose only one. After a lot of messing about I have gone for the All Things Fabulous Bundle, purely for it’s versatility and sheer beauty and the fact that I love the three step stamping.

To recreate the favourite bundle card you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded lower left corner
Pretty Peacock – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded lower left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded lower left corner x 2
Scrap Whisper White and Highland Heather

I began by stamping the ‘herringbone’ image from the Comfort & Hope stamp set in 3rd generation Highland Heather ink onto one of the Whisper White panels. I wanted a soft subtle something in the background.

A beautiful card using my favourite bundle - All Things Fabulous by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty card made using the All Things Fabulous bundle for the Stamp ‘n hop blog hop

The solid flower image from the All Things Fabulous stamp set was stamped twice in Pool Party ink unto the Whisper White panel. I added the second image over top using Coastal Cabana ink and the third and most detailed image in Pretty Peacock ink. I love the depth and shading the multi-layer stamping gives the flowers.

The leaves were stamped in Gray Granite ink and the small flowers added in Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape ink.

I added the group of buds in 2nd generation Gray Granite and Bermuda Bay ink, before adding the stamped panel to the Pretty Peacock layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole panel was added to the Pool Party card base with Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the All Things Fabulous stamp set was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink on a scrap of Whisper White card stock about ⅜” wide and trimmed down with scissors. A scrap of Highland Heather ½” wide was used to back the sentiment. The sentiment strip was then added to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I added a scattering of Noble Peacock Rhinestones to complete the card. These are sadly retired but Basic Rhinestones would work just as well. I hope you like the card.  Libby Dyson is up next so please hop over to see what she has to share with us this month.

A pretty wedding card made using the Arrange a Wreath stamp set and Wreath dies by Stampin' Up!

Wedding Card

Today I am sharing a sweet wedding card made for my daughter and her new husband following their marriage yesterday. Like many other couples this year their wedding was postponed due to coronavirus – then at the beginning of July the Church of England announced that simple socially distanced weddings could take place if the church had already been booked – so we were on again….. so exciting.

Camilla and Dom had 10 guest at the wedding instead of the 100 originally planned, no choir or singing, no bridesmaids, best man and no reception as large get togethers are still forbidden. Basically they could have the legal part of the marriage performed. Camilla chose not to wear her wedding dress, she is going to wear it when the have a church blessing followed by the reception in 2 years time.

The colour scheme for the card was inspired by Camilla’s white wedding dress with a little silver beading and the dresses for her 2 bridesmaids which are in a deep purple.

To recreate the wedding card you will need:

Gorgeous Grape card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded upper left corner x 2
Gorgeous Grape 4” by 4”
Silver Foil – 4” by 4”
Highland Heather – 4” by 4”
Scrap Whisper White and Gorgeous Grape

I stamped the sentiment from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink onto one of the Whisper White panels . The panel was then embossed using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder and adhered to the Gorgeous Grape card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

From scrap Whisper White card I die cut the larger flower to represent the bride and the 2 smaller flowers were cut from the Gorgeous Grape scrap card to represent the bridesmaids. These were added to the wreath using Glue Dots.

Using the dark Highland Heather Blends marker I coloured in some Basic Pearls and added them to the centre of the flowers and around the sentiment.

A pretty hearts & flowers birthday card made using the Basket of Blooms stamp set and Be Mine dies by Stampin' Up!

Hearts & Flowers

Today I am sharing a really sweet hearts & flowers birthday card made using the Basket of Blooms stamp set and the Be Mine dies.

To recreate the hearts & flowers card you will need:

Magenta Madness card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower left corner
Blackberry Bliss – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded lower left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded lower left corner – x 2
Whisper White – 4” by 3 “

I began by die cutting a heart from the Be Mine die set from the smallest piece of Whisper White card. I laid the heart onto one of the Whisper White panels and lightly drew around it with a pencil.

I stamped the leaves in Just Jade ink on the top left and bottom right of the heart shape making sure to overlap the pencil line. I added the largest flower in Bumblebee ink and the sweet flower on a stem in the Magenta Madness ink.

From the centre of the Blackberry Bliss layer I die cut the stitched heart. The stamped Whisper White panel was then glued to the Blackberry Bliss layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This was mounted on the Magenta Madness card base using the same glue.

The sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped in the centre of the heart in Magenta Madness ink. The heart was then glued to the Backberry Bliss heart with the liquid glue. The heart was added to the card front on Dimensionals.
