Welcome to the Joy of Sets monthly blog hop where our theme this month is ‘wedding’. Whether you have hopped over from Libby Fens or started the hop with me you are welcome.
To recreate the Joy of Sets Wedding card you will need:
Soft Sea Foam card base – 8” by 7½” – scored and folded at 4” Highland Heather – 7¼” by 3¾” Whisper White – 7” by 3½” Whisper White – 7¼” by 3¾” for the inside
I began by stamping the double rose image onto the centre of the small white panel using Highland Heather ink. I added the other flowers and leaves around in Rococo Rose, So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty card featuring the Eclipse Technique and made using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set
I used the playful Alphabet dies and my die cutting machine to cut the letters out of the image. Using the same dies I cut the letters out again from a foam adhesive panel and glued the coloured die cut letters to the adhesive letters.
The stamped panel was then glued to the Highland Heather layer using liquid glue.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty card featuring the Eclipse Technique and made using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set
The backing from the die cut letters was then removed and the letters placed into the negative spaces to complete the image. I then added the ‘holes’ from the letters using the liquid adhesive…………after I had hunted through the waste bin to find them!! I forgot I would need them and threw them away……. This is known as the eclipse technique.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty card featuring the Eclipse Technique and made using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set
Using the Soft Sea Foam Blends Alcohol Marker I coloured some white seam binding ribbon, wrapped it around the stamped layer and added it to the Soft Sea Foam card base.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty card featuring the Eclipse Technique and made using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set
I splattered the card with a Clear Wink of Stella Pen and also used the pen to paint the letters. To complete the card I added a scattering of Gold Glitter Dots. So Pretty. I hope you like it.
Please hop on to see what the lovely JoAnn Pollack has to share with us today.
Thank you for joining me today for the Stamp ‘n Hop blog hop where our theme this month is ‘Holiday Mini’. I love this time of year with Autumn and Christmas…… so many lovely things to chose from. If you have hopped on from the lovely Sandra Hertzog, I am sure you loved her project. You are now with Mo Rootes in the UK.
I have chosen to use the In the Pines stamp set to make a fairly simple card.
To recreate the Holiday Mini card you will need:
Pool Party card base – – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Early Espresso – 5 ¼” by 3 ½” Whisper White – 5” by 3 ¼” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside Scrap Early Espresso
I placed the smaller panel of Whisper White in the Stamparatus, upper right corner and set up the outline of the large pine tree on one of the panels. I stamped the image with the Early Espresso ink on the left, moved along one step and stamped again without re-inking. I inked again with the same ink and repeated both steps to give 4 trees.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In The Pines stamp set used for the Holiday Mini Hopping Around the World blog hop
I lined up the inner tree image on top of the 1st stamped tree and picked it up with the back of the plate. I inked it up with Shaded Spruce ink and stamped it onto the first tree then moved along one hinge step to stamp the second tree and repeated the process.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In The Pines stamp set used for the Holiday Mini Hopping Around the World blog hop
Using a sponge I added Pool Party ink around the tree to give a ‘sky’ and stamped the ground beneath each tree and the tree trunks in Early Espresso ink. The stamped layer was added to the Early Espresso layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In The Pines stamp set used for the Holiday Mini Hopping Around the World blog hop
I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around the the panel and tied it in a bow. The panel was then adhered to the Pool Party card base using the liquid glue.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In The Pines stamp set used for the Holiday Mini Hopping Around the World blog hop
The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink onto scrap Early Espresso card stock and heat set with a Heat Tool. The sentiment was trimmed down with scissors and added to the panel with Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In The Pines stamp set used for the Holiday Mini Hopping Around the World blog hop
Such a sweet card. I hope you like it.
The next person on the hop is Vickie Kello – I wonder what she has to share with us today.

It was such fun being able to hold a couple of small, socially distanced classes this week and so lovely to see some of my lovely crafting friends and catch up with their news. I decided to kick classes off by using the very versatile Coming Home stamp set and Home Together dies.
To recreate the new Coming Home card you will need
Gray Granite card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored on the long side at 4⅛” Gray Granite – 5⅝” by 3⅞” Whisper White – 4 ¼” by 3 ¼” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside Scarp Whisper White, Poppy Parade and Misty Moonlight
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty trio of cards made using the Coming Home Bundle by Stampin’ Up!
We embossed the Gray Granite layer using the Brick and Mortar embossing folder and glued it to the Gray Granite card base.
I had die cut ahead of time the stitched rectangle using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The ladies stamped the medium and small house onto the rectangle in Gray Granite ink and added the panel to the card front.
The larger house and the small tree were stamped in the same ink and die cut using the Home Together dies. The following Blends were used to colour in the die cut house and tree – Gray Granite, Just Jade, Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue. The house was them added to the card front on Dimensionals.
I had die cut the heart for the ladies and the words ‘hooray and welcome’ from the Well Written dies. The ladies trimmed off the HO of hooray and the OME of welcome and glued the o’s one on top of the other to create the word HOME. The word New came from the Well Said stamp set – -time for a NEW adventure and was stamped on scrap Whisper White and trimmed out with scissors. To complete the card we added a White Baker’s Twine bow.
To recreate the row of cars card you will need:
Thick Whisper White card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored on the long side at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner Misty Moonlight – 5¾” by 4” – rounded upper left corner Whisper White – 5¾” by 1½” Poppy Parade – 6” by 1 ½” Scrap Whisper White
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty trio of cards made using the Coming Home Bundle by Stampin’ Up!
I made this card for the son of a friend who has just passed his driving test.
We embossed the Misty Moonlight panel using the brick and Mortar embossing folder and added it to the Thick Whisper White card front.
The car were stamped across the thin strip of Whisper White card in Gray Granite ink leaving space to add the final card after it had been stamped, die cut and coloured.
The Poppy Parade border was cut using the Ornate Borders dies and added to the back of the stamped layer. The whole strip was then added to the card front.
We stamped the sentiment from the Well Said stamp set on a scrap strip of Whisper White in Misty Moonlight ink. The negative scallop from the Poppy Parade border was added as a little pop of colour. To finish we wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the sentiment and tied it in a bow.
To recreate the Snowy House card you will need:
Just Jade card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored on the long side at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner Misty Moonlight – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside – rounded upper left corner – one for the inside and one for the outside Scrap Whisper White
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty trio of cards made using the Coming Home Bundle by Stampin’ Up!
The final card is a Christmas card – yay…… We used a blending brush (you could use a wedge of sponge or a dauber) to add Balmy Blue ink to one of the Whisper White panel. The panel was then added to the Misty Moonlight layer.
We stamped the house and large tree in Gray Granite ink onto scrap Whisper White card and die cut them. They were coloured in using the same Blends Markers.
The houses were positioned on the card front and snowflakes were stamped around the roof before the house and tree were stuck down with Dimensionals. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.
A piece of Poppy Parade ribbon was wrapped around the layer and tied in a bow. The whole panel was then added to the Just Jade card front.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty trio of cards made using the Coming Home Bundle by Stampin’ Up!
I hope you like the cards as much as we do
I made some cut little treat boxes for the ladies using the same bundle. Aren’t they cute?
