Stampers Showcase blog hop featuring a snowy tree scene using the In The Pines stamp set

Snowy Trees – Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me today for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop where our theme is ‘heat or dry embossing’. If you have hopped over from Melissa Seplowitz,  welcome. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. I saw a beautiful card on Pinterest by one of our talented Artisan Design Team Members, Tammy Wilson – I loved it so much I decided to CASE it.

To recreate the Snowy Trees card, you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Highland Heather – 4⅛” by 3⅛”
Whisper White – 4” by 3”
Silver Foil – 4⅛” by ¼”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside

Using Versamark ink I stamped the in-fill tree image, from the In The Pines stamp set, multiple times onto the smaller Whisper White panels. I covered the stamped trees with White Embossing Powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool.

A Good Man and Mountain Air stamp sets used to make a lovely masculine birthday card

Good Man

Today I am sharing a card made for my son in law Dom’s birthday. He and my daughter are lucky enough to live on the edge of the Peak District in the UK and they love to get out to walk or climb as often as possible. I have used the stamp set called A Good Man and teamed it up with my favourite Mountain Air stamp set.

To recreate the Good Man card, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Misty Moonlight – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner x 2
Whisper White ¼” strip

I started by stamping the man in the deckchair using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped it again onto a large Post It note and cut it out using scissors. I wanted the man in the deckchair to be in the foreground of the picture and used the cut out as a mask.

October Stamp-A-Stack

Yesterday I had my first in person all day October Stamp-a-Stack event since mid-March, how mad is that……. I had to completely rethink how I design for and organise these events to minimise sharing of tools and product and allow us to adhere to social distancing regulations. I have to say I really enjoyed the challenge.

I offered 2 choices for this event – by post or in person.

Each participant received a pizza style box crammed with enough goodies to create 20 cards. I designed 10 cards and they will made 2 of each design.
