Customer Thank You cards – For Kylie Bertucci’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog.  My name is Mo Rootes from Cambridge in the UK and I am thrilled to be taking part in my first blog hop with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie Bertucci’s demonstrator training program. The theme for the hop is ‘Thank You’ and I am sure you will find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us

You may be starting here or have come from another blog – either way you can find the hop list at the bottom of this post so please hop along with us today.

To recreate my Customer Thank You card you, will need:

Merry Merlot card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Oh So Ombre dsp – 4¾” by 3¼” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White card – 4½” by 3” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner
Scrap Whisper White

This month my customer thank you cards feature a couple of sneak peaks showing new product which will be available from the 5th January 2021 in the January – June 2021 mini catalogue and the January – February 2021 Sale-A-Bration Brochure. My ladies love a sneak peek.

I began by stamping the stem and leaves from the gorgeous new stamp set called Art Gallery stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink onto the smaller Whisper White panel. The panel was then run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I love the texture this gives to the layer.

The stamped and embossed panel was added, with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the Oh So Ombre dsp – one of the free choices with a £45 order in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

I used a piece of the Ornated Garden Ribbon to wrap around the panel, adhering it on the back with Sellotape. Yes, I know the ribbon is Old Olive but it tones so well with the Granny Apple Green ink that I think I can get away with it..  The whole piece was then added to the Merry Merlot card base using the same liquid glue.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -My Customer Thank You cards shown on Kylie Bertucci’s Blog Hop and using sneak peek products

The flower is a 3-step image and I started by stamping the solid image in Flirty Flamingo ink. I added the more detailed image in Merry Merlot ink and finished with the small, centre in Early Espresso ink. Doesn’t it look fabulous….. I cut is out using the co-ordinating Floral Gallery dies and added it to the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink, cut it out with one of the sweet labels from the same die set and added it to the card with liquid adhesive. The pearls were coloured with a Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker and added to the card front to complete the card.

I hope you and my customers like the cards.

Please hop on to see what my fellow demos have to share with us today.

Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop using Gray Granite, Real Red and Cinnamon Cider inks

Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and thank you for joining me for the Colour Combo Blog Hop where you will find lots of inspiration using this month’s colours which are Cinnamon Cider, Gray Granite & Real Red. Don’t you think this is a really unusual colour combo? If you are starting the hop with me or have joined from Amanda Farlinger’s blog, you are very welcome.

To recreate the colour combo card, you will need:

Gray Granite card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner
Real Red card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded lower right corner
Whisper White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 – Rounded lower right corner
Real Red card – 3⅝” by 1⅛”
Whisper White card – 3⅝” by 1”

Taking one of the Whisper White panels and some Post It Notes I masked off a 1” strip about ⅔ up from the bottom.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

I decided to use the Forever Fern stamp set to make my card and started by inking up the largest leafy image with Gray Granite ink. The image was stamped above and below the masked off strip.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Next, I added the round leafed image using the Real Red ink. I filled in the gaps using the 2 smaller leafy images in Cinnamon Cider ink. I love that we have the same image going in different directions.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

To pull the whole thing together I added a scattering of dots from the same stamp set using Gray Granite ink. The Post It Notes were then removed and the whole layer was added to the Real Red layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then to the Gray Granite card base using the same glue.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

The sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set was stamped on the strip of Whisper White in Real Red ink. I decided it looked unfinished so stamped again on either side of the sentiment using the Gray Granite and Cinnamon Cider inks. I liked that much better.

The sentiment strip was then added to the Real Red strip using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, then to the card front on Dimensionals. I added a scattering of Red Rhinestones to complete the card.

I love these colours together, don’t you?

Joy of Sets Blog Hoo where the theme is Christmas Music. I have chosen In the Bleak Midwinter

In the Bleak Midwinter – Joy of Sets Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me today for the very last Joy of Sets Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Christmas Music’. I chose the carol – ‘In the Bleak Midwinter, frosty winds may moan. Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone’ and chose the Snow Front stamp set to create my snowy/icy scene. If you have hopped over from Gez Carpenter or started with me, you are very welcome.

To recreate the In the Bleak Midwinter card. you will need:

Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Shaded Spruce – 4” by 3”
Whisper White – 3¾” by 2¾”
Soft Suede – 3” by 1⅜”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”

I began by randomly stamping the group of trees from the Snow Front stamp set in Balmy Blue ink across the Balmy Blue card front to add a bit of texture. I added the panel of Soft Suede card to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and set it aside.

Joy of Sets Blog Hoo where the theme is Christmas Music. I have chosen In the Bleak Midwinter

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop

The mountains from the Snow Front stamp set were stamped in 3rd generation Highland Heather ink for a subtle background.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop

Using a piece of copy paper, I tore a wavy edge and used one of the new Blending Brushes to add a little Balmy Blue ink onto the stamped piece, creating layers of snow banks.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop

The cottage was then stamped in Soft Suede ink.  I added a variety of trees from the same stamp set in 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Shaded Spruce ink to add some depth to the image. The icy path was added in Balmy Blue ink and the sweet pair of deer in Soft Suede, aren’t they adorable.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop

Taking a Post It Note I punched out a ¾” circle, added it to the top of the image and used the Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to give the illusion of a winter sky. I added a little Misty Moonlight around the top to give some depth. To add to the illusion of icy conditions I sprayed the stamped panel with Frost White Shimmer Spray.

The finished piece was added to the Shaded Spruce panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I think this is so pretty but if I am honest doesn’t look all that bleak…….. What do you think?

Split Image Technique for the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

I have been playing with the split image technique today having seen a great tutorial from Gail Ellis of Blue Rose Paper Treasures . I have used to Forever Blossoms stamp set to create my cards. If you have hopped over from the lovely Gez Carpenter, welcome. You are also very welcome if you are starting the hop with me.

To recreate the split image cards, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left and lower right corners
Magenta Madness – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded upper left and lower right corners
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left and lower right corners x 2

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Magenta Madness – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2

I took one Whisper White panel and the Basic Black panel – it is important that they are exactly the same size. I placed the White panel in my Stamparatus and stamped the image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

A pretty Christmas bauble themed Christmas card made using Stampin' Up! products

Gleaming Baubles

It’s that time again you are joining me for the December Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Christmas’.  I love a bit of Christmas crafting and have made a gleaming baubles card using the Christmas Gleaming stamp set. If you have hopped over from the lovely Cheryl Taylor, welcome. If you are starting with me you are also very welcome.

To recreate the Gleaming Baubles card you will need:

Seaside Spray card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner

Pretty Peacock – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded  Brightly Gleaming Stamp set.upper left corner

Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner x 2
Scrap Whisper White and Just Jade.

Using a Sponge Dauber I added Frost White Shimmer Paint to one of the baubles from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and stamped it onto one of the Whisper White panels. The stamped panel was then added to the Pretty Peacock layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Christmas Tree Bauble card

I am CASEing my own card today – see blog post on the 29th September, using the In the Pines stamp set to make a sweet Christmas Tree Bauble

To recreate the Christmas Tree Bauble card. you will need:

Pool Party card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded Lower Right corner
Shaded Spruce – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded Lower Right corner
Whisper White – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – – Rounded Lower Right corner x 2

Using an Early Espresso Marker I coloured in the top of one of the baubles from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and stamped it towards the top of the panel of Whisper White.

I die cut a circle from copy paper measuring about 6 by 4 ½” – using the Layering Circle dies and used the negative space to act as a mask. Using sponges I added Pool Party ink all over the circle then Bermuda Bay around the edge.

I stamped the small row of trees across the bauble in Early Espresso ink and added the in-fill in Shaded Spruce ink.

I added the ‘ground’ image under the trees in Pool Party ink and randomly stamped the snowflakes in the same ink before removing the copy paper to reveal the inked and decorated circle.
