A beautiful birth card featuring a gorgeous purple butterfly and made using Stampin; Up! products

Here is a sweet brilliant purple butterfly card made using the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set and Brilliant Wings dies and some emboss resist ink blending.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate this card, you will need:

Pool Party card Base – 8¼” by 5⅞”
Basic White – 5⅞” by 2⅜”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Highland Heather – 5⅞” by ½” x 2

These were randomly adhered with repositionable glue to the strip of Basic White card. I scribbled Purple Posy ink onto a D Block and used a Blending Brush to pick up the ink and blend the ink onto the panel over the butterflies. The butterflies were then removed. I love the soft effect this gives.

A gorgeous water colour Hydrangea bloom featuring the smooched ink technique and the Hydrangea Haven stamp set and Hydrangea Dies by Stampin' Up!

Smooched Hydrangea

A sweet card featuring a gorgeous smooched Hydrangea made with the Hydrangea Haven stamp set and Hydrangea Dies and some watercolour ink smooching. Love a bit of smooching.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the smooched Hydrangea card, you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner
Flirty Flamingo – 5¾” by 3¼” – Rounded lower right corner
Fluid 100 – 5” by 5½” – Cut down to 5” by 3” after inking – Rounded lower right corner -the remnant used to die cut the individual blooms
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” Rounded lower right corner
Scrap Fluid 100 & Soft Sea Foam

I began by taking my large F Block and pressing the Blushing Bride ink pad onto it. I then dabbed Highland Heather ink in random spots on the block. I then used a Spritzer to spray the inked bloc with water. I laid the panel of Fluid 100 water color paper on top of the wet ink and allowed it to soak into the paper. This was then set aside to dry.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A smooched Hydrangea card made using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set

I mounted the Hydrangea image onto my Stampartus plate inked it up with Versamark ink, then inked it again with Memento Tuxedo Black ink before stamping it down onto scrap Fluid 100 paper. I used the stamparatus to do this as it can be difficult to get a good, clear stamped image on textured water colour paper and doing it this way would allow me to re-stamp if I needed too. I then covered the stamped image with Clear Embossing Powder and Heat set it using my Heat Tool. This image was then die cut using the Hydrangea Dies. I cut off the bloom using scissors.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A smooched Hydrangea card made using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set

I repeated the same process to stamp the image on the dried water coloured panel. The die cut stalk and leaves were then glued to the panel over top of the stamped image.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A smooched Hydrangea card made using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set

I die cut the strip of flower blossoms a number of times from the left-over inked water coloured card, used a bone folder to curl the petals. The flowers were then added to the head of the hydrangea with Mini Glue Dots.

The decorated panel was added to the layer of Flirty Flamingo with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I then wrapped some of the lovely Blushing Bride Snail Mail Twine around the panel and tied a bow. The panel was then added to the Soft Sea Foam card base on Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Old Olive ink, die cut using the sweet tag from the Hydrangea dies. The tag was added to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot. I used the Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers to colour some Basic Pearls and added them to the centre of each small petal cluster to complete the card.

Such a soft and pretty card, I hope you like it.

Gorgeous butterfly themed cards made using the Butterfly Bijou dsp by Stampin' Up! for a class in the mail

Butterfly Bijou Class in the Mail

Today I am sharing the projects I designed for my April Cass in the Mail using the gorgeous Butterfly Bijou designer Series Paper (dsp). This paper is stunning, I am so sad that it is only available until May or while stocks last.

Each pack contained all the card stock needed to make each card including the pre embossed panel for the two butterfly card, 6 sheets of the Butterfly Bijou dsp – I die cut the butterflies from one of the sheets for those who don’t have the Brilliant Wings dies  and I cut the dsp panels for those without a paper trimmer. A strip of Oval Rounds, a gold hoop and a little treat. The ladies provided their own sentiments.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Pink Butterfly card, you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Misty Moonlight layer – 4⅛” by 3⅛”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Butterfly Bijou dsp – 4” by 3”
Basic White – 4⅛” by ½”

We added the embossed panel to the larger panel of dsp using the same glue. The panel was embossed using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. The whole piece was then mounted on the Misty Moonlight card base using Dimensionals.

We added the Gold Hoop to the card front using liquid adhesive and the butterflies were added on Dimensionals. The card was decorated with the Oval Rounds

To recreate the Fun Fold Butterfly card, you will:

Calypso Coral card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” & 2”
Misty Moonlight – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Basic White – 5⅜“ by 3⅝” x 2
Strips of Butterfly Bijou dsp – 2 ½” long, various widths

We folded and burnished the card base, the centre panel in half then the other score line back on itself – this makes a Z shape.

The DSP strips were glued to one of the Basic White panels – I alternated butterfly patterns with non-butterfly patterns.

The decorated panel was added to the Misty Moonlight layer and then t the card front, adhering only the left side.

A butterfly was added with liquid glue and decorated with the Oval Rounds.

Thank you for joining me today for he Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where our theme is Easter or Spring. I have to say the daffodils and crocuses are blooming in my garden, the birds are singing and hopefully, we are heading for warmer weather. I have picked an Easter Flowers in a jar.

Ornate Garden dsp – 5¾” by 4” – rounded upper right corner

The smaller panel of Very Vanilla card was run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I added it to the 1⅝” front panel of the card using the liquid glue.

I added one of the larger Very Vanilla panels to the back of the embossed panel and to the inside layer, positioned to be hidden from the front.

Using Basic Gray ink I stamped the jar and the bouquet of flowers onto scrap Very Vanilla card. The jar was punched out using the Jar Punch and I cut out the flowers using scissors.
