Today I am sharing the misty woods card made for my son-in-laws birthday this week using the Beautiful Tree Dies. This card was inspired by a lovely card made by fellow demonstrator Michelle Zindorff.
Colours used in this project are:
To recreate the misty woods card, you will need:
Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Early Espresso card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Early Espresso – 4½” by 3½”
I die cut the tree from the centre of a scrap panel of card stock to use as a stencil. I also die cut the same tree from the Early Espresso panel.

I placed the stencil on the smaller panel of Basic White card and added ink using a Blending Brush starting with Sahara Sand. I moved the stencil and repeated the inking with Crumb Cake ink, moved it again and inked with Soft Suede ink. I repeated the steps to produce the effect of a wood.

I added the ‘ground’ image under each tree in 2nd or 3rd generation Sahara Sand ink and added the ‘grass’ from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set in 2nd and 3rd generation Pear Pizzazz ink.

The sentiment, from the Elegantly Said stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso ink. The die cut Early Espresso tree was then added with liquid glue to the inked panel and the excess trimmed off with scissors.

Using Blending Brushes, I inked around the top of the panel with Balmy Blue ink and around the bottom with Pear Pizzazz ink. The inked panel was added to the Early Espresso panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around the panel three times before adding the layer to the Balmy Blue card front on Dimensionals.
