It is time for the Stamper’s Showcase blog hop again and this time our topic in ‘gift wrapping’ and I have chosen to make a holly box. If you have joined the hop with me, welcome….I am Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. If you have hopped over from Marita you are also very welcome.
To recreate the Holly Box you will need:
Real Red – 8¼” by 7¼”
Whisper White – 8¼” by 5½”
Scrap Whisper White and Real Red
I began by using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score the Real Red panel . I scored on the long side at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8”. The short side was scored at 2”, 5” and 7”
I cut up the scorelines as shown in the photo, please use this as a template.
The box was put together using Tear & Tape, a very strong adhesive which will ensure that is doesn’t fall apart.
Using the new Joyful Holly stamp set I randomly stamped the outline holly images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Whisper White panel.
I stamped the infill images in Old Olive ink, they were really easy to line up and added the berries in Real Red ink.
The stamped panel was then cut into 1⅞” strips. These strips were cut down to 2⅞”. You need 4 pieces 2⅞” by 1⅞” for the panels of the box and 1 piece 1⅞” by 1⅞” for the top of the box.
These panels were adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
I wrapped a strip of Old Olive Ribbon around a box and tied in a bow.
The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was stamped in Real Red ink onto scrap Whisper White and die cut using a label from the lovely Field Tile Dies.
I die cut another label from Real Red card and cut it apart as shown in the photograph. I adered the pieces to the back of the sentiment with the liquid glue and cut the label down. The label was tucked under the bow and adhered with the liquid glue.
A simple but pretty box. I hope you like it.
Please hop on to see what inspiration Lisa McKey has to share with us today.
