Floral Sympathy card

Today, I am sharing a floral sympathy card made using left-over pieces from my desk.

Colours in this project are:

To recreate the floral sympathy card, you will need:

Gray Granite card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Soft Sea Foam card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

Using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders, I embossed the 5¼” by 3½” panel of Basic White card. The embossed layer was then adhered to the Soft Sea Foam layer. I then glued the whole piece to the Gray Granite card base.

The roses were scraps from a previous project made in the following way:

The large floral outline image, from the Layers of Beauty stamp set was stamped onto a large scrap of Basic White card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I placed the 1st stencil over the stamped image and applied a light layer of Smoky Slate ink to the large roses with a Blending Brush. The 2nd stencil was placed over top and the next layer added with Gray Granite ink. The final layer was added with Basic Gray ink.

The smaller flowers were inked with Gray Granite ink and the centres coloured with Basic Gray ink. Soft Sea Foam ink was then used for the base colour of the leaves. The more detailed layer was added to the leaves using the same ink. I fussy cut the roses using sharp scissors.

The sentiment, from the Something Fancy stamp set, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the die cut label – cut using the Nested Essentials Dies. I added the small flowers on either side and coloured them in with Soft Sea Foam and Gray Granite Blends. This was then added to the card front on Dimensionals and tucked the flowers underneath.

A scattering of Basic Gray and Smoky Slate Pearls finished the card
