Colour Blocked Thank You card – Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are showcasing a project we have been working on. I saw a video recently using a colour blocking technique and thought I would give it a try. I have used the Delicate Forest stamp set to make my card.  Click this link to see the original video from Lynne Dunn of Stamptastic Designs

Colours used in this card are:

 

To recreate the colour blocked thank you card, you will need:

Pebbled Path card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

 

I used some washi tape from my stash to mask off areas on the 5¼” by 3¾” panel of Basic White card.

 

 

Using Blending Brushes, I added Lemon Lolly ink to all three panels, varying the position with each panel. Next, I added Peach Pie ink. Finally, I added Petunia Pop ink to each masked third.

 

Leaving the washi tape in position I stamped a couple of the images from the Delicate Forest stamp set in Pebbled Path ink onto each panel. I carefully removed the washi tape.

 

I inked the sentiment, from the My Small Business stamp set, using the three colours used for blending. I started with the ‘A and N’ which I inked up with Lemon Lolly ink, having masked off the other 4 letters. The remaining letters were then inked up and the whole world stamped in the blank area.

 

A trio of 2024 – 2026 In Color Shimmer Gems completed the card.
